Ok so i guess its safe to say that i was anorexic for maybe the last month and a half. Then 2 days ago i talked to my mom an she convinced me to get off "anorexia". Well somehow she persuaded me saying that im alredy healthy. (u know moms they say ur healthy if ur like 50 pounds obese) well i currently weigh 152 and im 5'6-5'7 i used to weigh 204. But since my metabolism slowed down does that mean if now i eat 1500 calories. does that mean i'm going to put on weight? I alredy started drinking water (REAL COLD) and yeah guy help me...

Hey dude,
Well, unless you are only moving to eat, I'd say 1500 is just fine. remember a persons weight cycles up and down naturally. So don't let a small gain spook you. And eating 1500 clean cals a day is an excellent start.
Now the next step is to get out and get some activity. Then 1500 cals will be no problem at all. And you can do it, because if a 650 pound, 46 year old man can learn to eat right and workout (me of course) so can you.
Losing 300 pounds can't be wrong!!
Have a most Excellent Sunday!! ![]()
Thanks
I feel bad now.. i Just ate like a 3 watermelon wedges blueberries (pint) and 2 apricots
AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW
As a male teen you need to eat no less than 1800 calories. But you know this already. You should not gain on this amount. You might even lose more. However, you have to realize there may be an adjustment stage as you refeed yourself since you are existing largely on fruits but in the long-term your health will be incredibly better than it is now and you will be able to grow up into a healthy long-lived adult man.

Maybe. Everyone is different. But I'll assume you will.
Don't worry. Your metabolism will adjust soon enough. I'm recovering too and my metabolism adjusted pretty quickly. :)

I
really just feel the need to ask you to not just throw around the word
"anorexic." Anorexia is a DISEASE, & you absolutely cannot be
"talked out" of it.
When you self-diagnose like that & treat
anorexia like it's a fashion, it's really offensive to the people who
have battled the disease.
Anyway, yes. You will gain weight.

i agree with starcrossdlovex. please be more sensitive to those who have been diagnosed with anorexia. it is not a cold that you can catch and have for a month then suddenly be cured of it. if you believe you may be suffering from anorexia, please get help and talk to someone about it. once you do, you can get the right kind of help you probably need.
i've seen several of your posts. maybe you really are niave and are wondering, i don't know. if that's the case, please talk to your mom about seeing a counselor or a nutritionist. and trust me, there is NOTHING wrong with seeing someone. it does not mean failure. i'd think you would know that existing on fruit is not healthy. i've never had anorexia but i imagine some of your posts will be triggering to others. please be more sensitive.

a) How are these posts triggering ?
b) Ok... So
-Skipping Lunch
-Having Watermelon For Dinner
-having 2/5 cup of cereal for breakfast
Those are not symptoms of Anorexia? Now imagine living like that for 1 months (maybe more). WHAT IS THAT? TELL ME? Is it just a normal 1500 cals like you eat?
c) go eat some AW and cheesecakes

diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa includes having a bmi of below 17.5. so no you are not clinically anorexic. you show signs of having ED-NOS. like jes516 said you can not "get off" anorexia. it's much more than just wanting to be skinny, it's a true mental disorder.
to answer your question, you should eat at least 1800. you might gain a little at first but then your metabolism will adjust and you will likely start to lose weight.
ok, i can agree with the fact that those who are anorexic may be defended on someone saying they were for one month and then stopped on a dime. BUT based on his posts it does not sound like he has started healthy eating habits. Even though the definition of anorexia nervosa is having a BMI lower than 17.5, you could be anorexic and not be to that point yet. I lost 50 lbs in 3 months when i was 14 by only eating 600 cals a day, in the end i had 14% body fat and was under weight. My family was very concerned about me and i did have a distorted body image and thought of food the wrong way.
i don't think anyone disagrees that he has a problem with food. even thedude thinks he does, as he basically said so himself. but this is not the right place for that. he needs help, from professionals.
thedude -- i'm sorry i made you defensive...or at least you seem that way. don't mean to make you upset! (what's AW?)
