Maintaining
Moderators: iae

Hi everyone, I want to maintain. I have recently started eating more. I believe I was low on fat and protein so I am trying to adjust. I was eating 1,300-1,700 calories a day. I am 4'10" 90-92 Lb. I was hungry all the time. I eat clean but worked for so long to loose weight I think I had the mindset to always cut and workout more and once I got to my ideal weight I struggled with not loosing. So now I am working on that. I have started eating more and adjusted my workout schedule. I took some time off, a few days to recover and rest.

My question is how many calories do all of you eat a day?

Have you cut back on your workout or kept it the same?

Do you eat more calories now than you did when you were trying to loose?

on my one day off from the gym, i eat 1600 calories cuz im sedentary. usually, on these days i let myself cheat a little, cuz i know thats important to do to prevent binging. like, i had a tiny bit of peach coffee bread and pumperknickel bread. :-)

the rest of the week a workout anywhere from 30mins-1hr. so, i eat anywhere from like 1950-2300. though, i usually end up at around 2050 those days. i eat anywhere from like 120-150g of protein a day, and like 4-7g of sat fat. and probably like 175-250g of carbs a day.

ive just recently switched up my routine cuz my body adjusted to the old one. other than that, ive been working out the same.

and im eating to restore my metabolism. i was eating wayyyy lower than i should have for like almost two years, like under 800cals/day.

=)

Hi Erin, thank you for your reply.

You sound like me. I have recently adjusted my workout also. Was doing the same thing and pushing myself way to much. I was not eating enough and training too much. I was limiting fat way to much and replacing with too many veggies. I am trying to find the right balance. I am comfortable on workout days eating about 2,000-2,300 calories but am so worried about gaining. I have worked so hard to get to this point. It is a mental thing because we do "restrict" to loose but then you have to get to the point where you are done loosing and just maintaining.

I workout 6 days a week. Sprinting, walking, elliptical, weight/strength training, calisthenics, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges and so on. Cardio workout is usually 1 hour a day.

I want to repair my metabolism also. Just eat normal and be healthy.

How did you feel when eating so few calories a day? Were you sick? If so what symptoms did you have?

oo lord. when i was eating less than 1000 calories i was sick allllll the time. it made me really weak and very very moody. i think it was part of the reason y i got mono earlier this yr cuz mybody was sooo weak. i was really dizzy all the time too very un-fun

I was not eating less than 1,000 but some days probably close and working out a lot. I think I was burning off to much. I was and still am a little weak and very, very moody. Were you depressed and anxious?

yeah suicide was on my mind alot. and, things ticked me off and made me really sad and mopey alot more easy. i snapped on my parents alot and stuff. i just grew very introverted and removed from everyone.

not only was the starvation affecting me physically, but severely mentally as well. i was not fun to be around im sure.

keep eating more. you'll feel awesome. i know even on like 1400, i felt so much more vivacious and energized. on 2000+ (what i'm eating now), i feel like how i think someone living a full life should feel.

mentally, im more aware and keen. school work is easier. and social situations aren't as arduous and bothersome.
