Eating more to lose?
I had an eating disorder, and am now (pretty much) recovered. Even at the peak of my disordered eating, I was never underweight (120, 5' 5''). I gained about 25 pounds in recovery and am now straddling the overweight line. First of all, I AM FREAKING OUT!!!! OVERWEIGHT??!?!!!! It seems like just yesterday I was told that that was all in my head, and that I was fine. NOW I ACTUALLY AM???!?!!!?!?!!! The problem is, I can't seem to lose any weight! In fact, the less I eat and the harder I work out, the more I gain! One week I averaged 1200 calories and I gained 1.5 pounds. Another week I averaged 1600 and I only gained .4. Why? Is my metabolism just ruined? I had an eating disorder for a long time (2 years) at a somewhat young age (13 - 15). I am now just a few month away from 16. I want to lose weight SO badly, but I can't return to my eating disorder. I just got my period for the first time a few months ago, and so far I've grown about an inch. My color is much better (my father used to think I was anemic) and I feel so much... freer.
The reason of that is, your obdy is going into starvation mode and knows what you are like so it thinks its not going to get food for a long time so it starts hoarding everything, And are you drinking enough fluids too? Because if you dont drink enough fluids your body works on trying to get all its noursihment from the food and is desperate for water give it water and your body will relax and absorb everything naturally!........I have suffered from and eating disorder and some times constipation is also the problem which can make you gain from 1-4 pounds in a night! So chill and eat natuarlly and drink more fluids and everything should sort out :)
