eating more...and more tired after workouts?
Hey everyone. I'm Katie, recovering anorexic, 16 years old 5'7" and 112 lbs right now. I've been in recovery for only about a month, and I'm still gradually increasing my calories--right now I'm at 2000-2200. I run for about 20 min. every day, and do light weights 3 times a week, but recently I've been noticing that I am more tired after my workouts than I was a month ago when I was only eating around 600 a day! Is there any sensible reason for this?
Also, I'm aware that cardio is not the best for weight gain. I'm still working on the psychological aspect of giving it up.
Any help?
I know for me in refeeding I often get very tired and drained. I think it is the body working hard to repair and catch up. Have you had a GP check up? If not I would cause it could be a sign of something else as well. Are you in therapy or under care for this in general? I am glad you have increase from 600 to 2000 but that is not enough especially since you are young and need to gain. I hope you can continue to increase. As for working out the only way I feel is to stop and focus on light walking and things like yoga. It will be hard but when you get healthy you can put that back in. Remind yourself running is dangerous and really not productive to weight gain
