you shouldn't eat so much at night. but if you do & have to, eat something light.. like an apple or banana or some grapes.
it's better to eat more during the day because you're burning more calories. you dont burn as much when you sleep.
it's always best to have your breakfast be your biggest meal of the day too, since your body has been deprived of food for hours.

Sorry to dispute the former post. If you do a web search for
weight-loss myths, you will see that the idea you can't eat in the
evening comes up as a myth. The time of the day you eat doesn't
matter. All that matters is how many calories you eat over the
course of the day, on average.
I do agree that breakfast is important... it is about food strategy. You will be less hungry through the day, if you start with a good breakfast.

I'd say it doesn't really matter when you eat, but I myself feel better if I stop eating 3 hours before I go to bed. I don't like sleeping with a full tummy :)
I don't think it matters when you eat, and there have been some recent studies that show that it doesn't. The important thing is burning more than you consume, no matter when you consume it. Many folks live be scheduals that don't match the average 9-5. The only thing that I would recommend, is not eating a big meal right before you go to bed, as that can effect your sleep.
Okie dokie .. gracias.

When I was on Weight Watchers, they always said that it doesn't matter when you eat your daily totals, and it was a personal preference as to when you consume your calories/points. I used to find myself racing the clock trying to get in all my veggie requirements, etc. before midnight.
Each day, you need a certain amount of each food group and it's up to you when you eat it within a 24 hour period.
I agree with the post above, that I feel better when I stop eating early evening and don't eat after 7 or 8pm, but then again, that's just personal preference.
Every night I have a snack just before bed, have to eat because of medication I have to take. Don't know if it has affected my weight loss, but I am not complaining, as of today I am down 80 lbs.
Hi
Does WW really work with treats?

it depends on your sleep pattern. most of the time its dont eat 4 hours before bed. If you do, just drink a protien shake :P (carbs is another story...)
I used to wonder about this until living with a ridiculously trim boyfriend who worked nightshift and regularly would polish off fried porkchops and rice before hitting the sack.
The only thing is eating right before sleeping may give you crazy dreams. That may sound silly but its been my experience.

I eat every night. this used to be the time I would eat the most in a day so now that Im changing my ways I still need a snack while watching my shows (I love big brother!)
I used to do 100 calorie bags of popcorn. lately it has been luna bars. those are 180 calories (but still get an A for nutrition). as long as its in my calorie range for the day I dont worry too much about it!

don't worry as much about when you eat, just worry about the amount of calories you eat when you do eat.
Night time is when I eat the most, and I lost weight this way (even if I shouldn't have). So relax, as long as it fits into your calories, you're good. :)
