Lately I keep waking up at 5 or 6am to eat and I don't know why! I've upped my calories recently, and it doesn't make a difference whether I have a pre-bedtime snack or not (tried it).
Not related, but also, I tend to eat most of my calories at night -- I know most people aim to make breakfast their biggest meal and dinner the smallest, but its opposite for me. I definitely make dinner my biggest meal (around 1000 cals) I wonder how this will affect me??
Happy Holidays :)
How big is your breakfast, lunch, and your snacks if you're eating 1000 calories at dinner? o__o; How many calories do you aim for a day?
You sound like you need A LOT of calories. Why don't you try upping your calories even further and see if it stops you from waking up in the wee hours to eat? If you find yourself gaining weight, you can eat slightly lesser and do regular exercise.
You could try shifting your sleep patterns. If you're waking up hungry at 5 or 6 am, then stay awake, and make that your breakfast (lots of folks are early risers, my dad has started eating at 4:30 am since I was a toddler.) Then, go to bed no later then 10 pm. You'll be asleep when your night binge comes on, and awake in time for breakfast!
Omgosh the same things been happening to me! Like 4 or 5am i wake up and my tummy's grumbling. And i cant go back to sleep until i eat something. And its weird because ever since winter break started, ive eaten a ton more food everyday.. maybe thats the connection?
I have the same problem of night eating. I've tried to up my calories to have the majority of it eaten during breakfast, snacks, and lunch, but I end up eating the same amount at dinner anyway o_O I hear it's worse to eat such a huge meal at the end of the day, though, since it's easier and most liekly going to end up as body fat.

It really depends on what you eat, though.
I have also been one of those who eat more at night. I have to force myself to eat breakfast because I am not hungry when I get up. I try to eat a decent size breakfast and lunch, and a couple of snacks during the day so I don't eat as much at night. I always save some calories for "dessert" which is usually a cup of tea and rice cakes or something around 100 cals. So far it has worked. I think the bigger meals during the day and the snacking (healthy of course) during the day helps!

I added protein and some more whole-grains into my mornings. Didn't do anything =[
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
