eating pumpkin seed shells?
i love pumpkin seeds and i know that they are usually eaten with the shell on. is that okay? i just wonder if i eat a lot of them - would the shells be harmful? with fall here i don't want to stop eating them... so yummy! ![]()
thanks!!
I hope they're not harmful or I'm dead! All the shells are is fibre and this passes straight through the body and out at the other end, hopefully keeping the rest of your digestion moving in the process...
Keep eatin pumpkin seeds... just watch the cals because they're yummy but energy-dense little monkeys.
Just make sure you chew them well, they can be a little scratchy on the way out.
In the US, pumpkin seeds with the shells can be VERY high sodium, if you're buying the kind they sell at convenience stores. If you're making them yourself, never mind - carry on :)
