eating question - hungry in the middle of the night

hey i have this problem where i wake up in the middle night and i feel hungry and i eat. is this a teenage thing and the hormone's need the food or what? if anyone could answer this is would appreciate it. thanks in advance.

I don't know your age but you are probably still growing and developing and that takes fuel.

Are you eating enough during the day?  Try some chocolate milk (like Ovaltine, has lots of minerals in it).  That usually does the trick for me, and kills my sweet craving.  (BIIIIIG chocoholic). 

Or, have a piece of fruit, that may help too. 

I get that too and I am sixteen. Maybe it is a growing thing...?

Even though my BMI is just over 25, I'm thinking I should wait a bit until my teenage years aren't so up and down until I start hardcore dieting... I'm just trying to drink water and become more active.

 you should try eating more throughout the day, or a snack before going to bed. Regardless of your age, it's not good to eat in the middle of the night because it isn't a good eating habit, nor is it good for your digestive system (needs to rest a bit while you're sleeping)
