Are you ebay buying, selling or both?
I browse regularly although but seldomly buy. Kind of like window shopping with the occasional purchase. Happy to report never had a bad purchase experience although Im very cautious, only purchasing from highly rated sellers.
I sold for a short time, clearing out household things and have collected enough more for a second go round. Some sellers clearly do it as a side or fulltime business. Ive tossed around the idea of hitting on selling in a specific niche on a small scale, help pay the bills way. Havent hit an idea though that works for me.
Curious what other ebayers habits and experiences have been - either buying or selling. I dont know if theres any
I am a buyer and seller. I would say I've been nuying and selling for just over a year or so now. But I had been browsing it for many months before that.
I have just recently sold my PS3 on it for a very good price. Had no problems with the transfer what so ever. It is a great site once you get that hang of it! I tend to buy a lot of my DVDS and collector items/figures off Ebay.
i've never sold. i've thought about it, but i'm afraid that i'd never get around to sending the item, and then i'd be a bad seller ;)
i've bought quite a bit, though: everything from DVDs (most of them were counterfeit, so i stopped) to shoes to dishes to a laptop.
unless it's a great deal on a relatively expensive item, i find that the postage usually eats up most of the savings, so i'm pretty selective.
I hate shopping in real stores, but I love e bay!
I've been buying for 6 or 7 years. I 've bought books, pillows, purses, shoes, boots, leather , clothing, cookware and other things. I average one purchase every month. Sometimes I bid at auction, sometimes pay the "buy now" price. Sometimes I buy from the stores that sell in only new stuff, and sometimes buy older, used items.
Never have sold anything, but I sure agree that the shipping is a big factor on what I purchase. It can be a deal breaker, and often you pay lots more than you can actually mail it for.
With a teen daughter who loves the latest trends,E-bay is a life saver! We love buying the hottest fasions at great prices on E-bay.So much cheaper then department stores.
I buy and sell, I recently sold and ipod, a helio phone, tons of clothes, exercise DVDs, and that's about it.
I recently bought about 15 pairs of jeans, a new exercise DVD, headphones, and i think that's it. I buy tons of stuff on ebay. It is waaay more cost effective and I figure that if I don't like the thing I bought it's better that I spent less money on it!!
When buying, I always sort by lowest with combined item & shipping. Since ebay does not include shipping when determining seller cost for listing fee and ebays commission, some lower the item and up the shipping to save what they owe ebay.
I struggled selling trying to determine shipping. The USPS site is user friendly to calculate it but you have to know weight which I never do plus zip codes can mess with it too.
I preferred listing all items at once so that same time the auctions ended and I could ship the sold off at once. Plus I round up the stuff, run by the PO to get weights before listing. I'd like to do ongoing sales but only as versions of something that will be same weight, same ship cost without calculation. Like people who sell different magnets or 8x10 photos.
I dont understand how people are able to buy clothes. Maybe if its a specific item you see in a store and can use the specifics to search for the same thing on ebay. Otherwise, I can bring 20 items into a changing room and not have one 'work' so cant imagine not seeing it in person and lucking out for it to fit right.
Well i sold once and that was just my old cellphone when i upgraded in Jan. Didn't make much but it was extra cash i didn't have before.
I recently purchased some decor from Ebay, from the UK. Its been about a month, he shipped it off awhile ago, i'm still waiting. I've also moved since then so i'm wondering if that is hindering the process.
I won't be buying frm the UK again.
I adore ebay! It's absolutely amazing and I have bought so many WONDERFUL items on there (in wonderful condition) at HALF (or more) PRICE!!!! It cannot be beat for sure, you just have to routinely check & make sure you get the best deal! It's super addicting though, so be careful in that respect. I have sold things on ebay too, it's best around X-Mas time when everyone is going nuts for gifts!! I got $60 on a North Face Fleece Jacket (Size xs) TIMES 2! :)
oh my gosh, I love ebay--it's the reason why I even have the internet. I've bought clothes, books, workout DVDs and even more clothes from there and I've always had positive experiences. My most recent discovery is anti-aging products. I love to take care of my skin & believe me, anti-aging products can be quite expensive, but I can get them for a fraction of the price from ebay.
I've never sold anything off of there though.
Another thing I learned to be careful is getting caught up in bidding. Before auction bidding, I find the same itemas a Buy It Now ebay listing so I know not to go above that price. I quit and just get the Buy It Now listing but Ive seen buyers continuing to bid higher and higher.
I've never sold on there, but I'm rounding up a bunch of stuff and plan to sell this summer when I'm on break (I'm a teacher).
I buy plenty...mostly tennis apparel. It is much cheaper than buying new, and usually I already know my size in a certain brand. I can also find things from past seasons that I've always wanted but couldn't find.
I've had mostly good experiences, and have all positive reviews as a buyer. However, I did have one of my favorite sellers block me from bidding on her items. I tried to email her to find out why or clear up anything that might have happened, but she never answered. I'm really baffled, I never not paid or bid and didn't pay or anything like that. She never gave me a negative review, either, so I have no idea why she doesn't want me to buy from her anymore. It is a shame...she had some things I was ready to buy, too.
