For those of you who, like me, have braces and cannot safely chew gum, I recommend the pods of edamame (soybeans). They have fiber and protein, I think, and will not break your braces. However, they are very stringy, so chew carefully. They work well for strengthening your back teeth.

xD Always looking for a great alternative for gum! And I love edamame, especially in Indian food. Great idea!
