Eddie Izzard fans?

Anyone? I think he's a wildly funny comedian, and the fact that he's a British transvestite only adds to the humor of his bits. So, Eddie Izzard fans, post your favorite bits here so we can all laugh and reminisce!

A couple of my faves:

We STOLE countries with the cunning use of FLAGS! Just sail around the wold and stick a flag in! ..."I claim India for Britain!"

And they're going, "You can't claim us, we live here! 500 million of us..."

"Do you have a FLAG??"

"...No we don't have bloody flag, it's our country you bastard."

"No flag. no country. You can't have one. That's the rules that I just made up. And I'm backing it up with this gun that was lent from the National Rifle Association."

(Mimicking an all-British cast on the Death Star in Star Wars):

"It's the rebels, sir... they're here..."

"MY GOD MAN! Do they want TEA?!"

"No, I think they're after something more than that, sir. I don't know what it is... but they've brought a flag."

What exactly IS an evil giraffe?  "I shall eat all the leave on this tree so that other giraffes will starve and die.  Mwahahahaha.  I am in evil herbavore."

I can't think of a skit right now but I do like Eddie Izzard!

I literally love him! Have done since I was about 12 I reckon. Shame he's not been doing much stand up recently and been concentrating on film and stuff. My fave sketch is Death Star Canteen but there are so many others. Elephants coming over the mountains on skis (If you've never seen an elephant ski then you've never been on acid!), and the murderers in the queue at the 24hr petrol station (Get the bread, the brown bread man! First word, sounds like, broooooown. Yeah the bread, for my bread gun!!! .... 'Ello, we're muderers. Uhh...twix please.)

So much other greatness that I can't remember at the moment tho. Might have to get my DVDs out again cos it's been far too long!

actually he's on tour right now :-)  or at least was on tour.  i wanted to see him at radio city music hall in june before leaving for vacation but the tickets sold out in a blink of an eye!

I love ALL of his skits, it is hard to just choose one :)

He's amazing! I was so glad when my boyfriend randomly quoted him one day (neither of us knew the other liked Izzard). We also saw him recently (about two months ago) in Chicago, so at least in the states he was touring - less transvestite lately though, but that's okay.

Check out Youtube - there is a stack of his great stuff on there. I thought his humour was peculiarly British - glad you all get it.

All of my favorites that come immediately to mind have been quoted.  Except the routine where he mocks British dramas "Oh.. well, right then.  um.. oh.  right.  um.. right....etc. etc."

Love him!!

Apparrantly, I am a fan and dont realize it, eventhough Ive not watched him.
Netflix has recommended DVDs with himbased on my prior rentals.

I love Eddie Izzard! My favorite sketch is when he's describing Techno Fear and Techno Joy.

I'm also a fan of The Riches.

I absolutely adore Eddie!!  One of my faves (aside from the covered in beeeeeeeees) is pavlovs cat.

Day 1: Rang Bell. Cat f**ked off

Day 3: Rang Bell: Cat said he'd eaten earlier!"

Genius!

I got to see him on the day after my birthday this year.  He was so great <3

 Is that in the UK or the US tho? I'm in the UK and last I knew the US had won him over and he had been trying to make it big over there? This was a long time ago, I've been so busy in school/uni that I honestly haven't had time to keep up with the real world for a long time it seems!

"Englebert Humperdink is dead"  the audience murmers..(not someone you hear about everyday so he could be...)

Eddie pulls a face and shakes his head "no" like no,no he's not really dead-

audience laughs.

Eddie pulls another face and nods his head "yes" like- oh, yeah yeah he's dead, he really is.  More audience laughter.

He went back and forth like that for a couple of minutes, not saying a word, shaking his head no, nodding yes and the audience was cracking up.  I laughed for a week about it everytime it came to mind.

 He was on the Graham Norton Show last week so he must be doing work in the UK. Can't remember if he said anything about any live dates.
