I'm new to this group but I've been counting calories for about a month or so. I weigh myself every Friday.
so, here are my stats!

Height: 5'7
Start Weight: 218lbs
Currently: 211 lbs (goal is 147)
I'm trying to lose weight for my brother's wedding in July. He's getting married in Italy so it'll be hot and sunny - perfect for getting a tan, but not if you look like a beached whale!
A little late, but I did weigh on Friday. Had a family funeral out of town this weekend, so I didn't count calories. Hopefully that wont affect me too much this Friday! Back at er today. Great morning workout to start it off.
Starting Weight Jan 2008- 199lbs
Weight Dec 5 2008- 166lbs
Weight Dec 12 2008- 165lbs
Goal- 143lbs June 2008
Only one pound last week? I suppose that's the way it should be. LOL

Hi Everyone,
I'm New to the Group. I attempted to use this site about a year ago and after about a month I fizzled-out. I thought if I connected with others in a group it would motivate me and help me be more accountable. I like the idea of a weekly weight-in. I just turned 46 Dec. 9th and after a week of having birthday cake every day and my clothes getting tighter I said "ENOUGH!"
I lift weights 3 days a week for 1.5 hrs with a trainer and do some cardio on my off days, Rower Machine (which my husband just bought for us), jump rope, walk hills. I also am an Operating Room RN so I do a lot of lifting at work, Pushing patients on bed's, lifting trays of instruments, pushing heavy equipment around ect... So I get alot of physical activity in but I need help with my eating habits, especially with my snacking at work.

Okay... just to clarify, that's not all "real" weight loss. I fully expect to gain about half of that back in the next day or two. I was probably a bit dehydrated when I weighed in this morning.

Christmas week is upon us. . . no kicking ourselves for gaining a pound or two. Man, I'd be ecstatic just to maintain this coming week.
So, this week after a Friday weigh in, I flew to Calgary for a funeral that day. I was pretty good as far as food goes. I didn't work out for 3 days in a row, but I did a lot of "mall walking" Saturday & Sunday. I ate a BURGER (YUM) and a few sweets left over from the funeral. Back at the gym Monday (and all week). Ate good for the week. I always seem to have around a 800 cal deficit. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I'll take that.
This weekend I am doing my Christmas baking. Saturday is definitely a cheat day because I'll have to TRY some. I'd hate to feed people crappy tasting treats. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!) Monday I am hosting a small Christmas party in my office at work. I'll eat crackers for lunch, lol.
I CAN be good on the 24th and 25th. Just SMALLER portions... we'll see how THAT goes after we weigh in next Friday...

I keep struggling with my weight. I feel confident and healthy one minute, then disgusted with my body the next. I am an active mom of two girls. I quit my Store manager job after 8 years of corp. world to become a stay at home mommy. It's hard work staying home!!! I love every minute of it. Balancing act has left me not dedicating time to take care of me, so thats what I need to focus on every day.

I heard that if you drink a glass of water before your Christmas dinner it will fill you up some so you cant eat as much. If you have a big appetite try drinking 2 glasses of water.
I haven't gained any weight this month...my dr. claimed I lost two lbs in the last two weeks. She asked me about my eating habits and I told her all is good.
The baby will be here within the next four weeks and she said that if I only gain another couple lbs (totaling 22-23 lbs) it will be alright. She didn't make it seem like I needed to put on the 30 I often hear is recommended.

I had a bit of a rough week. I was 167 lbs on Monday and then I went christmas shopping on Tuesday, so I didnt exercise and ate out for dinner. Then when I got home, I went crazy on the sweets and ate wayyy over calories. I didnt think it would be that big of a deal, but I have done really well for the last 3 days and I am still at 169 lbs!!! I am so frustrated but all I can do is move forward and remember this week the next time that I am tempted to do the same thing. And on top of that, I am getting comments from family who have seen me for the first time in 6 weeks, asking me if I eat or if Im starving myself. If they had seen me on Tuesday, they definently wouldnt be asking that question!

Hi All,
Hope you all are doing well and staying committed to our goal of being lighter by June.
I am delighted to say that I am doing really well with my Calorie intake. This site has helped me see where all those large calories are hiding. Like those 1 or 2 Hershey kisses, and then that fun size candy bar from the candy drawer in the nurses lounge lead too... I tell my self "Oh just a few pieces of candy are not that bad." But then it turns into 10 pieces.
I am committed to being real with myself these next two days while I'm visiting family. I hope that I will be smiling on Friday when It's time to weight in.

Happy Boxing Day! And, Merry Christmas to me. . .
I have not counted calories since Saturday. I decided Christmas week would be tough enough. I still hit the gym with my regular routine however. I am happy to report I am down one more pound this week! And the calorie counting begins again today, so I'm hoping for success this coming week too. Keeping in mind I should be bloating up from PMS at next Fridays weigh in.
