She is! Really!

I like the editor's note at the bottom.

heehee - I loves me a smarta**

Also, did you see the interview?  She claims she doesn't get welfare - yet she gets food stamps and SS "disability" benefits on 3 of the kids.  WTF does she think food stamps are?

is welfare the same thing as food stamps?  either way - it's public assistance

first thought thru my head when i first heard of this woman, 'boy her nipples must be sore' & some other questions... where did the other kids come from??? why was she looking for more fertilization????

She was an only child, and wanted a big family to, apparently, fill a "longing" she's had since childhood.  *cue violins*

And I find it hard to believe she's producing enough milk to feed 8 newborns.

i wished 'the girls' wouldn't have been so prolific

Well, I think of the amount stress I had and loss of sleep with just one (even with hubby around) and how that affected my milk production, and wonder how in the world this woman copes with 8.

ha ha, i can see those violin strings breaking!!! but having 14 kids to satisfy your 'longing'??? jeez

This woman is just straight up crazy and I think it's ridiculous that there is a doctor out there stupid enough to have given her the opportunity to have 8 more babies

14 kids to satisfy your 'longing' or 14 kids to try to get your own reality show and make tons of money?

I saw a the first TV interview she did, Q's on moral grounds are been put over here. They also say that she clearly has mental health issues and that in it's self should have been enough for it to be refused to her.

I just think this is so sad on so many levels, and pondering to her wants has not helped her or those children.

Oh god no - TLC already has 2 of those shows. It's full!

Sadly, amethystgirl, TLC isn't the only channel that would jump at the chance to film her.

You know what I want to know? Why everyone is so concerned with her and the newborns, but not ONE person I've talked to has even thought of those 6 kids at home.

How would you feel if your mother 'had' to have more children? There were 6 of you already, you were already competing for attention...What kind of a complex must that give a kid?

First child syndrome, times 12?

I was all about 'let her alone, she's got a right to procreate', until I saw the house her first six are living in. This woman is a nutball. A little three bedroom house - her parent's at that - no income of her own and 14 mouths to feed.

Shameful.

Her dad is also shipping out to Iraq to try to support all the new grand kids...

Just pathetic...(her lack of concern for anyone but herself, not her Father's overwhelming compassion).

I agree she's nuts.  But it's not the doctor's fault.  I imagine he let her know the risks and probably tried to convince her that it might not be the best idea ever but in the end it's the patient's choice, not his.

He could have denied her. All he had to do was see that she already had 6 kids with no income, no place of her own, obvious mental issues, etc....

he could have refused to implant her

like I said in the other thread he should perhaps be made to financially support the 8 he helped create.
