What effect does a carpet foor have on the scale?

I've heard its different, but just how different? does the scale go up on the carpet or do the readings go down on the carpet? and which one is right the one on the carpet or the tile floor?

Use a tile/wood/solid floor, not carpet.

*hint*

Go to a home improvement store and buy a large, cheap tile to put the scale on if your preferred place is carpeted.  I got a tile for less than 70 cents to put mine on.

I weigh 215 on the tile, and 160 on the carpet

*edit...and I am definately not 160...LOL*

Weird... I put ON half a stone on carpet... jumped from 8.5 to 9 stone...

I weight the same on both!!!

I weigh 2lbs less on the carpet...

I'm pretty sure the reading that I get on the floor is more accurate
