Egg Beaters
Has anyone ever tried eggbeaters? I'm trying to make some better food choices, but I dont want to waste my money on something nasty.
Hi Devansharese,
Yes I've tried Egg Beaters. The best kind to get is the one that has a little yolk in them. I've had some trouble finding it at my local supermarkets here in SC, however, they always carried it in Florida. It has a good flavor like real egg and I'll add an ounce of 2% cheese in the eggs and fry it using the Olive Oil Pan Spray.
I have tried the regular plain Egg Beaters and I'm not fond of them as far as flavor is concerned. However, I bet if you poured your Egg Beaters all out into a bowl with a lid and then scrambled in one regular egg, it might change the flavor (not sure though)..... I haven't tried the cheese and chive (I'd rather use my own cheese as I don't know what kind of cheese they use in their mix) or the Southwestern (not too fond of green peppers)..
Val
I buy a store brand verison of egg beaters and they're ok. I'm not going to tell you that they are as good as eggs and I don't know if I would use them in baking but I make veggie omeletts with it and I've been pretty happy overall.
devansharese,
try using two egg whies and one whole egg for omelettes and scrambled eggs. it saves a bit of calories and is fresh.
personally, the southwestern one is good!
the cheese & chives... not my favorite.
they are good, especially if you dont have a lot of time to make an omelet with fresh ingredients
I luv egg beaters alittle pepper and onion spread laughing cow cheese the light swiss on a whole weat flat bread......... mmmmmmmmmm so delish
Lisa,
You know...I never thought about adding the light laughing cow to an omelette... I think that might be good.
