Egg Donor...make $75,000??
Does anyone else find this really creepy?? Donating your eggs and making that much money from it? Not to mention that you'd always wonder if you saw a child who looked like you if it could be yours...

It really creeped me out! I'd love to have $75,000 extra bucks, but not from selling my eggs!!!!
I don't qualify, too old, too many genetic problems.
Besides I think that the usual going rate is closser to $5,000-$10,000.
Yeah, I agree with spoiledcandy. I wonder who would make it to the top tier of egg donors, though? Supermodels, super atheletes??
Really? Holy crap! I gotta do this. The world needs more me!
Edit: Nevermind, I'm too tall.![]()

And apparently those who go to Ivy League colleges.
I sure as hell would do that if I had the chance. Sperm donors do it all the time, why not the ladies too?
Problem is, I'm way too screwed up for my eggs to be worth more than a few bucks a pop. Dang!
Pretty sure my eggs are worth 50 cents each.
Sweet, I meet all the criteria. Too bad I'm too protective of my genes. If I'm going to spread my genius, I'm going to be the one raising them and reaping the benefits. ;)

One child costs an average of $250,000 to raise from childbirth to 18 years. By all means have kids, just don't expect them to make you a profit :)
Why have kids if you can't profit off them? For real.
So ready to be a pushy showbiz Mom who steals all my kid's moneh!
i'm too short by 4 inches!
i want to make $75,000 off of my eggs! lol..
This ad reminds me strongly of Hitler's "need" to create the Master Race.
In fact, alot of the qualifications seem pretty similar to me... Tall, Blonde, no genetic defects.
Hmmm...

It seems to be specific couple..well, they refer to "The family"....spooky.
I'm too short by 2 and a half inches and one year too old, but $75 000.00 would be super handy right now... I could basically pay off my bond.

I think a lot of the requirements are because they may not want to inform the child that they were conceived with donated eggs. A child may wonder why their African American when both parents are white or why their 5' 2" when mom and dad and grandpa are average height.
As for the genetic diseases, if you were paying $75,000 for an egg and had the choice between one likely to have markers for a genetic disease and one that is unlikely to have the markers, which would you choose?

Have you READ some of the suggestions?
The family would prefer that the egg come from a donor who's gone to one of the top-10 schools, but must have excellent grades. 1250+ on the SAT..
Sorry, I don't buy it.
When Der Fuhrer says "This is the Master Race", we Heil (*zerbert*) Heil (*zerbert*) right in Der Fuhrer's Face
sweet, I qualify!
I have considered applying to donate when I heard it was around 5-10 grand but after looking into it, I didn't think it would be worth it for the whole process of donating. Now that it could be 75.....I think I will seriously consider it.
I qualify, at the top of the age range... unless they care about that B- in Thermodynamics my sophomore year. I hate chemistry...
If somebody made a carton for these eggs I could totally retire on this lol
I mentioned egg donation to my boyfriend the other day to see how he felt about it.
his reaction:
"but what if when we have a kid, they fall in love with your OTHER kid from the egg donation that you don't know and they have kids and end up with flipper arm kids because of inbreeding!"
my reaction:
::blank stare::
75K would be amazing.. I qualify if I wear a pair of heels ;)

That reminds me of an episode of House we saw recently. The funny thing is that in a closed system, inbreeding actually leads to fewer genetic defects.
