Eggs - scrambled.
For lunch the other day I had one egg (scrambled - 80cals) made in 1 tsp of olive oil ( goya- 60 cal) over a rice cake (35 cal.)
Are scrambled eggs healthy? It sure tasted good, but wanted to make sure if I really want to lose 1 pound a week, if eating eggs are a good choice. You know, a protein and carb - makes you feel fuller. So I though, heck, an egg and rice cake (protein and carb).
Eggs are healthy, in moderation. Although that can be said about anything.
That being said that is not lunch that is a snack...
P.S. teaspoon of olive oil is 40Cal not 60. Difference is negligible, but thought I would mention it. :)
UD
Well I eat 5 small meals, so for me thats one of the 5..lol :P And I never eat eggs, hadn't had one like in 4 months!
But the olive oil is 60 cal. because 1 tbspoon is 120 according to goya extra virgin, so therefore one teaspoon (1/2 tbsp) is 60 calories :)
1 tbsp = 3 tsp
Oh okay. So then it is 40 cals. Sorry guys! :)
So, 40+35+80 = 155. Even if you thought it was a little higher, that's still very small for one of your five meals. How many calories do you eat per day?
And yes, eggs are incredibly healthy. Especially the yolks - they're full of essential fatty acids and the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K). The cholesterol content is only a problem if you already have high cholesterol. Otherwise, eat up those eggs!
I've been eating 1100 - 1200 a day. But, I'm starting to eat an egg, once a week atleast. I don't have a cholesterol issue, so I guess then it is okay.

Have you ever tried Egg Beaters or another Egg substitute. They are basically egg whites that have been fortified with nutrients contained in the yolk. They are extremely low in calories and have zero fat.
I eat some type of egg every other day. Usually I'll mix 1 large egg with 1/4 or 1/2 a cup of Egg Beaters.
Well, I've never tried it, but next time I go shopping I'll be sure to check it out. I might give it a try.
Sounds good, because I need the protein. I'm allergic to nuts and the only meat I eat is at dinner time and I only eat chicken. But I do get another serving of protein from my soymilk with oatmeal.
When preparing scrambled eggs, make sure that they are shaken and not stirred. ![]()

Real food is better than fake food.
What is the difference?
Lol, I hope its not a real obvious answer.
Yeah, I figured. I was just trying to be nice. I don't really eat anything processed nor frozen foods, etc., for that fact.

I agree. Why eat something fake when you could eat a real egg? Seems bizarre to me.
Sometimes I cook my eggs without the yolk. Just add a little salt and pepper. It sure is tasty. c:
If you like the yolk, you can eat it. Sometimes it'll break into my egg whites and I happily eat it anyway. It has a ton of nutrience in it. Plus (sorry if I offend anyone on saying this) God made itand expected us to eat it, so it can't hurt us one bit.

Egg Beaters aren't fake. They are egg whites plus a bunch of nutrients that are normally contained in the yolk, without the fat.
I am surprised nobody noticed that she said she eats under 1200... EAT MORE! Trust me, your body needs it especially since you are a teen. You won't explode to 300lbs or anything like that. That is why you plateau a lot because you are not giving what your body needs. So sad when I see posts like this about eating below their caloric needs. *shakes head* I am definitely not going to post any more on your threads because you obviously are not taking the advice given. Sorry if I seemed harsh but deliberately undereating while you know you could be eating more just gets my goat.

Unless there is a chicken somewhere that lays egg-beaters, they're fake.
They come out of a factory, not a bird.
Egg Beaters are made from real eggs. I have them every morning. I make a sandwich with 35-calorie bread, a slice of fat-free cheese, lettuce and tomato. It makes a great breakfast sandwich! It gets an A- from CC whereas a whole egg only gets a B. With coffee (Splenda and FF half and half) and a serving of celery, my breakfast calorie count comes to about 215 and gives me plenty of leeway for lunch and snacks while at the same time keeps me full until lunch.
Edited to add ingredients of Egg Beaters:
INGREDIENTS:
Egg whites (99%), less than 1%: Natural flavor, color (includes beta carotene), spices, salt, onion powder, vegetable gums (xanthan gum, guar gum).
Vitamins and Minerals: Calcium sulfate, iron (ferric phosphate), vitamin E (alpha tocopherol acetate), zinc sulfate, calcium pantothenate, vitamin B12, vitami nB2 (riboflavin), vitamin B1 (thiamine mononitrate), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), folic acid, biotin, vitamin D3.
I believe so too. You did not offend me :)
Plus, I love black pepper.
