Einstein Bros. Frankenstein Wrap!!!
Was out today and stopped into Einstein Bros. Bagels for lunch. Thought the Chipotle Turkey Wrap looked pretty healthy. Then for kicks and giggles, I checked out the nutritional info on the web site when I got home.
OH...MY...GOD!!!!
Try these numbers on for size:
730 calories!
37 grams fat!
1990 mgs sodium!!!
I am currently balled up in the fetal position weighing the pros and cons of sticking my finger down my throat.
Moral of the story; If you go to Einstein Bros., you're no EINSTEIN, my friends.
Out of curiosity - what were the ingredients of the wrap?
I work at a breakfast/lunch restaurant and the wraps we use are either 290 (whole wheat) or 310 (plain) - then if the wrap had a couple ounces of cheese you're up to 500, add 4 slices turkey (100), 1 tbsp mayo (100) and you're done! there's 700 calories right there! I learned the hard way to avoid the wraps - you're probably better off with turkey on whole wheat toast with LT and mustard
The ingredients looked good...smoked turkey, black beans, corn, chipotle sauce...the rub comes from the sauce...they use whole mayo and cream cheese. I should have asked for nutritional info right from the start, but hey, no biggie, I adjusted in the evening and had a very big, very low fat salad...and like magic I lost 1.4 lbs overnight!
