I personal love the elliptical trainer. I use to run, which I enjoyed too, but I just found out the my right knee is too bad for me to continue. So the elliptical became my machine to burn. The trick with it, like all exercising is you gotta switch it up a little. I usually do a regular train one day and the next day I do interval train. Works great. If you add resistance, you will get a really good burn. I think the machine is pretty accurate if you put in age and weight. You burn about the same if you do a cycling class, and if anyone has done that, then you know when your body is really working.
I have about 22lbs to go. I was 285 in 2004, I am now 217 last I checked. I am 5' 11" tall. The Doc says a helathy weight is 195 for me without looking like I'm smoking something. My main reason for losing the weight is because I have alot of health issue in the family tree. Mostly heart conditions. I want to do what I can to prevent it for myself, if I can.
