hey I was just wondering how many of u guys out there actualy try to eat 2500 calories or more a day? - granted most ppl using this site are working twords weight loss - I know ever since I upped my cals to 2500-3000 a day ive gained only 2lbs (in about 4 weeks) and im pritty sure its pure muscle. I love eating and I am a very active person. My body was on the edge of starvation mode when i was at 1700 cals a day. so how many other ppl out there shoot for 2500 calories or more a day?
i think i would be sick (throwing up and big tummy ache) if i ate that much because its alot of food...but yeah i bet ure a really active person so u need that stuff =P
yay for food

yup i eat a lot too! my cals are pretty much the same and i'm also very active. i used to think that 2500 calories was an absolutely insane amount but now it just seems completely normal and maybe even a little on the light side lol! i'm totally with you! it's nice to know someone else requires as much food per day as me because i sometimes feel like i'm a huge pig haha
i eat like a pig, but i only eat 2500 on special ocasions and holidays id burst if i ate like that everyday!
i can only eat like 2500 cals every once in a while, like last night i went to dinner for friends bday had wine and great(healthy) food and split a brownie and ice cream dessert. but i cannot do that all the time. i was stuffed. i usually feel really good w/1700 calories.
There's no way I could ever eat 2,500 worth of healthy food. However, 2,500 is equivalent to only (yes, ONLY!) about 470 grams of chocolate, and I have no trouble eating that in one sitting.....and then some! *hides*
I would absolutely love to eat 2500 calories a day. I could go to Red Lobster whenever I wanted! But alas, I am stuck with 1500.
I usually eat right at 2000, but I will go up to 2500 on days that I am particularly active. Eating 2500 isn't really that challenging. Eating 2500 _healthy_ is :)
yes. i more track to make sure i am getting enough fat and protein in my diet...but i definitley eat insane amounts. i dont believe fruits/veg's should be included bc i semi believe in them having neg calories, at least many. so...inherently i bet i eat more than most human beings on earth bc of my absurd love for produce
yes, im only a small fry at a measly 5 foot 5, yet i burn over 2800+ calories , im pretty much always hungry. Im a very active person, and i personally love it. i acutally have diffacultly gaining weight back since i burn it so quickly. but remeber guys, im a VERY LATE bloomer, i just recently have started to grow effectivly. im also 16 years old.
thank u all now i dont feel like a lonely pig.........=op
well, i'm really short (5'1"), and i probably have about 2000 a day, so i guess that's considered a "lot"? :-D
I'll call that binge if I eat 2500 cal.
Usually I'm full eating around 1400-1600, anything more than that, I'll feel stuffed.

i eat 1600 and i am full most days. 2500 would feel like a binge to me also but i wish i could eat that much!!!
i eat a lot too. i'm suppsed to hit 2000 cals a day, but with an eating disrder it's hard to convince myself to do that. but i usually do. i don't need to gain weight though, so that number is based on what my therapist/nutritionist says should be about maintainence for me. i usually do 45-60 mines of cardio, 6 days/wk. i can't help but doubt that maintainince is so much for someone as small as me (5'2", 110)... which makes it hard... does that sound reasonable to other people? if it really is maintainence, i'll stick with it, but i don't want to gain. sometimes I'm hungry and think i should eat even more. on the day i don't work out, i usually try to be a little under, like around 1700-1800... hm..
My body definitely loses weight quickly at 1700 calories a day. At 1200 calories a day I was losing about 1.5 to 2 lbs a week if not more. I typically need 2500 to maintain, and 3000 to gain slowly.
You're not a pig :) In hospital I had to have 3000 calories a day. Granted it was to gain [poop] but that's a LOT for a sedentary 76 pound female...
I definitely eat more than 2500 calories when I am biking alot. I try to stay below 3,000, but it is difficult to do when I bike hard for more than 3 hours.
i cant eat 2500 or i gain, sad fact of hypothyriod. I can gain on 1900, Even with a hours serious exercise 4 times a week, extrmely active job and not sitting on my arse when im home. its realy unfair lol!!!
anyone else like me?

yep actually i hit 2500 everyday now, i used to be at around 1500-1700/day, just about a month ago. Then I found this site and learned I was eating way too little for someone my age (17, male, daily excersise 90min).
i added 100 cal/day a few days and now eat 2500 cal a day everday, no significant weight gain in process (maybe about a pound but hard to tell cuz it fluctuates).
i'm feeling way better now, now more lightheadedness, tons of energy all day! im very lucky to have found cc :D
i may try to increase my cals even more to prepare for a vacation im taking this summer... 1 month where i'll be eating in a foreign nation (can't be sure of nutritional stats!! :( )
