Who else here HATES the taste of natural peanut butter?

Quote  |  Reply

I thought I was a peanut butter fan until I tasted natural pb. That stuff is seriously vile! It taste like somebody chewed up some peanuts and them spit them into a jar. YUCK! Can somebody please tell me how to make this gross stuff taste edible? I don't like wasting food.

Oops! I totally forgot that I posted this thread! Silly me! Anywho, I found that this stuff taste pretty good with some jam/jelly or honey. Wow, I guess I do need a sugar detox!

Lucky for you and all of us that 'hate' something good for us or are trying to 'quit' something that our taste buds are constantly changing. Sounds like a solid case of sugar addiction that you have. You can beat it in three-5 days of kind of sucky days if you want and then your new taste buds will be revealed within 10 days to 3 weeks. By 10 days to 3 weeks, you will munch on a lettuce leaf and TASTE what you couldnt before! Natural peanut butter (DO buy it organic and freshly ground at a place with many customers fro freshest taste if possible). Check n make sure NOTHING that you buy in a package contains high fructose corn syrup- breads (try Exekiel breads and toast!) and stick to dried fruit when you are really needing a sugar fix. After a few weeks, even dried fruit will be TOO sweet to your new taste buds.

Good luck! (Look more into sugar addiction- its VERY interesting!)

I kind of like this theory, I absolutely cant stand veggies. They come off as being too bitter. I can eat things like cooked carrots, corn, green beans, and spinach but anything eles is just gross to me and I instantly gag or throw up.

as to the subject in this post, I find natrual PB the best thing ever. Cant even compare to commercial crunchy pb.

If you don't like REAL peanut butter, then well you don't really like peanut butter at all.

You like an overly processed concoction of hydrogenated oils, trans fats, sugar, corn syrup, fillers, maltodextrin, stabolizers and perservatives... now THAT'S vile.

the stuff added in commercial peanut butter is absoulely dreadful for you, but it is a great way to pad your thighs..

I have 5, yes FIVE jars of NATURAL peanut butter at home... one is smooth, one is smooth with salt, one is crunchy, one is all organic, and one freshly mixed from Old Fashioned Foods (when I bought it, it was still warm!!) YUM!

...yeah you could say I have an addiction lol, but actually by having so much I don't binge on it... I don't know why. I guess I just know that its still gonna be there tomorrow and the day after.. and so on. I dont need it all at once haha!

Natural vs. Commercial... there's no contest, Natural will ALWAYS come out the winner.

No better way to treat your body right then adding a tablespoon to oatmeal, or spread on a banana, mixed into a protein shake, or eaten right out of the jar when you need some extra quality calories and nutrition

Don't worry you'll get used to the chewed up peanuts taste! I did! When I first tasted natural pb I hated it too, but now I can't image my life without it.

I just had to give my brother two jars of natural peanut butter because I couldn't leave it alone.  It was just peanuts and salt, and really yummy.  I guess the Laura Scudder brand isn't available all over, but it was OUTSTANDING.  I just couldn't keep it in my house.  No will power.  Bummer!!

I DO.

I buy Smart Balance "not THAT bad for you..." PB.

mmm.
