watch the macronutrient ranges, so that i ensure adequate nutrition. yoga. wonderful!! if you want some support or a buddy feel free to ass me as a friend :)

You can cut out juices, soda, and other extremely sugary snacks.

Try eating more vegetables and exploring new fruits this summer while you can get them fresh. Mangoes are a new favorite of mine!

Also, limit the time you spend just sitting. Do push ups or crunches during commercial breaks. Take long walks, or try to be active in small ways everyday like taking the stairs or parking further from the store.

I hope that helps!

I eat a high protein, high healthy fat, no dairy, very low carb & almost non-existant sugar diet (the only sugar I eat is from vegetables). Seems to be working well for me... I have been at the same weight for awhile now and feel very good about myself... Plus I feel energetic!!

Oh and I exercise every day for an hour and a half or more! :)

Wow! We sound totally alike! I'm also 5'1" and I started out a few days ago at 120. I weighed myself today and I am down to 117. Other than counting my calories, I make sure I exercise for at least 30 minutes a day and I have recently started drinking a TONN of water! Sure I'm going to the bathroom like crazy, but it has helped me get rid of a lot of water weight! Also, I changed my diet so that I have very little sugar and a good amount of protein.

Good Luck! :)

I am 4'11" 93-95 LB. I watch my calorie intake. I eat clean/balanced. Whole grains, lowfat dairy, good fats, lean meat and proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables. I don't eat fast food, transfats, sugar free, fat free, diet foods. Don't drink my calories, limit condiments to healthier choices like salsa, mustard, hot sauce, limit sugar but better to use real sugar than artificial sweeteners, drink plenty of water.

Workout 6 days a week, heavy lifting 3 days, HIIT 3 days, power walking and running 3 days. Other strength training, core and leg work. Planks, squats, lunges, jumping jacks, pushups, situps, squats, lunges, pullups and so on.

Don't cut calories too low. Don't follow any stupid no carb, no fat, no sugar diet. You need carbs just make healthy choices more complex carbs than simple. Also need fat. The only fat you don't need is transfats.  Just be sensible. Have a cheat meal once or twice a week with your favorite foods.

Build muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn just living.

omg,,,,,,i know im utting out the sugary drinks or atleast trying too which is hard for me...but this summer i am determined..and im trying to  run on the treadmill for 2 hrs.

I used to drink NOTHING but sweet tea, cokes, and coffee with tons of half & half and sugar.  At first I tried to just cut down but it didn't work. When I decided to diet for real I stopped drinking them COMPLETELY and drank only water and coffee with fat free half & half with splenda. I know it's hard but guess what? I lost 5 lbs the first week! I was amazed how much of an impact sweet drinks had on my weight. Hang in there and good luck. It's no coincidence that diet and do it sound so much alike!Wink

i don't worry much about calories anymore.  unless i'm eating real crap (fried stuff, chips & dip, nachos, etc.  oh - and beer.  mustn't forget beer) it's almost impossible for me to eat too much.

and the more active i am, the more i crave good food.  right now i'm waiting for my new job to start (orientation jun 22-23) and i'm walking and/or running a total of 3-4 hours a day.  once i'm working full time, it will be more like 2 hours during the week, but i'll be on my feet a lot at work, so i'm not worried.

i also want to start lifting more regularly (just dumbbells at home; i hate gyms).  i'd like to get back into yoga, because i love it, but i feel guilty exercising without the dog :)

Wow, we're almost identical on those stats you listed.  I am 5'1½", 115, small frame, generally size 8 (though I can wear anything from size 6-12 depending on fiber, cut, etc. of the pants).

When I lost weight, in addition to calorie reduction, I hit the gym 2-3 times a week and did a lot of incline treadmill walking (going against an incline burns LOTS of calories).  For my diet, I cut out refined starches and saturated/trans fats as much as possible, substituting healthier whole grains and mono/polyunsaturated fats instead.
