Embarassed and in desprate need of a support buddy
The next day I feel lousy about the binge.
I am really embarassed to talk about this. I am looking for a buddy who can help me stay on track and NOT BINGE AT NIGHT! Anyone interested? We could email/message over calorie-count frequently to keep each other in check in regards to a healthy (no night binge) lifestyle :)??
Let me know.

Lindsey, Im usually always up till 1 or 2 in the morning. Im in Cst. I would be happy to chat with you anytime Im up if you need someone to talk to. If Im up Im usually here.
Unfortunately, I don't have any advice to offer but I do want to let you know that you don't need to be embarrassed! We all have our little things that trip us up!
We're here to support you and offer encouragement!
Once I get to sleep I'm OUT! But when I do have cravings I always distract myself with an activity for a minimum of 15 minutes IF I'm still craving the item I'll have a SMALL bite and make myself really take time to taste whatever it is. Do you know how nasty Twinkies are when you hold it in your mouth to really taste it well? UG! Definitely a snack meant to be eaten fast!!!
Good luck! I know you can whip it!
I've either been doing late night binging or early morning, but I would love to have some support as well!!! Im trying to gain but I dont consider binging to be very healthy, especially since although I need the calories I would rather space it out more throughout the day. Lets start tomorrow anyone?
About 10 days back, I could not resist any kind of desert or comfort foods in my refrigerator. Especially in the nights. Then I found a way around it. Now, I eat dinner at about 6:00 PM, have a bath and directly hit the bed at about 7:30 PM without watching TV. This has been working for me since the last 10 days. I hope it lasts. Feel free to join me in the quest.
Lindsey,
I know exactly what you are going through. I keep two things on hand that help me so much!
I keep Carmel De Leuche Pudding (SP?) on hand. Its only 60 calories! Its so yummy! That is for a sweet craving.
I also keep Veggie Chips they are kind of hard to find but Sam's always has them. They are a heck of a lot better then those baked chips. I keep those around for the salt craving.
With those to things I give in on my bidge even if its late. They arent too bad.
Good Luck
Lindsay
Something I read from my Humana Dental plan brochure. Chew gum and make it sugarless. It curbs the cravings. Hope that is helpful.
Hey. I am in exactly the same situation as you.
I tend to use food to deal with all my emotional problems - and if I cannot sleep at night it is very tempting for me to go and eat something when I am not even hungry.
I have tried some strategies that have worked - such as having an after dinner snack JUST before bed - I small snack.
It usually works - except when I wake up during the night. If I do not want to face reality I will go and eat something.
Please PM me of you want to have some one to talk to each time you get the urge to eat at night.
I know how awful it feels the next day - when you are so stuffed - and you wish you could just wake up hungry for breakfast. Instead of stuffed and ashamed of eating.
How many calories do you typically take in during your day, and how long before bed do you eat dinner? other than dinner do you eat anything else before going to sleep (excluding the binges?)
If there is one thing I've learned about binging, its that a lot of times its becuase you arent getting very much during the day, or you go too long between dinner and breakfast, which could cause problems if you wake up in the middle of the nigght. Be sure you are getting AT LEAST 1200-1500 calories a day, you will lose just fine and still feel satisfied.
Also, are you very strict about not indulging in snacks, sweets and treats in your diet? Sometimes if you constantly fight the urge to give into your cravings, you eventually binge, and aim straight for the foods you normally resist. This could be especially true at late night hours, when your will power may be its weakest.
Feel free to add me as a buddy, I'm always here to support! :-)
Hey Linz,
I've been in the EXACT same situation since last year. It's slowly improving for me, but without a little more background about your eating habits/ when this started, I dunno if I can give much advice. Definitely up for support buddy, though!
