Embarassing Question
Hi everyone... I have a little bit of an embarassing question.
Today I consumed my lunch - and orange, Cliff bar, daily multivitamin, and about 40 floz of water. However, about 20 minutes after finishing everything I vomitted. (No, it was not on purpose) How to I go about counting those calories? Also, do you think I should take my multivamin again?
GROSS WARNING--------
I know the orange came up, along with a lot of water. I don't have a clue about the Cliff bar or multivitamin.
END WARNING---------
Any Ideas?????

sorry but i dont have a clue for an answer to your question, but you warning was hilarious!!!
How do you feel now?
Healthy people don't randomly vomit without a reason. Do you think you are getting a tummy bug or ate something bad?
If you feel ok now just go about eating your regular food. If you are hungry now ---> eat. If your tummy is a bit sore eat/drink whatever makes you feel good and soothes you. If you continue vomiting call your doctor.
I second the statement: Healthy people don't randomly vomit without a reason. How have you been feeling today? How fast did you drink your water, incidentally?
Count the calories, and leave the multivitamin for today. If you can, try and keep your meals fairly plain for the remainder of today but if you feel better tomorrow then go back on as usual. And if you still feel sick, tomorrow or later tonight, speak with your doctor as NYC's suggested.
I feel pretty good, actually. I'm not hungry or thirsty. I don't think I'm getting a bug, but I guess I do need to keep that in mind.
I'm thinking that one of two things happened:
a) for some reason the orange did not agree with me
b) my multivitamin caused an upset stomach (can happen if taken without food, but I have never experienced this)
I have an Odwalla Bar that I'm planning to eat in a little bit. If that settles fine, I think it was a fluke.

I did drink the water fairly quickly... maybe over a 30 min or so period.
40 oz of water at one meal seems like a lot. Maybe that was too much volume for your stomach?
40 oz in 1/2 hour........... I would puke too. Unless I was super thirsty.

For some reason I guess I was that thirsty.... I didn't realize that I was on my refilled bottle until it was all gone!
I'm feeling pretty good now, so I think it must have been the water.

You vomited because you took the multi-vitamin right after eating. You should take pills (any pills) within an hour to two hours after eating and never on an empty stomach. Also, the meal that you ate was not really substantive enough and could cause your stomach to be upset. I used to take multi-vitamins in the morning with my coffee (no food). I would always feel nausea's for the whole morning and/or vomit. It wasn't until a nurse friend told me that multi-vitamins are supposed to be taken an hour after eating a full meal. I would never take the multi-vitamin again because you do not know what has been absorbed by your body and missing one day won't hurt.
I wouldn't repeat a multivitamin. Your body isn't going to miss one. I think it takes 2-3 hours for food to clear the stomach so I wouldn't log the food taken within that time of vomiting.
