At the end of a good day, there's still a feeling of guilt...
I had a decent day today and somehow I still feel guilty. Does anyone else come across this? I don't get why my inner thoughts are telling me this...
Rethink those inner thoughts. What do you have to feel guilty about? Did you eat properly? Did you exercise that body? Did you drink enough water? If so, then banish the negative thoughts and put positive vibes out into the universe. You will be happy you did.
Everyone gets a negative vibe now and then...it is what you do with it that counts. Allow yourself to have a guilty nanosecond and then pick yourself back up and change the attitude.
Toss a smile on your face. Be thankful that you are six feet above ground (and not six feet underground). Count your blessings, focus on gratitude and ditch the negativity.
'Guilt' means believing you have done something wrong.
So where's the potential for feeling you did something wrong? People trying to lose weight who adopt too rigid rules tend to feel guilty if they step outside them even marginally. The obsessive dieter who is aiming for 1500 cals a day will feel mortified if the total comes to 1520. The person who has set unrealistic total exclusions e.g. 'I will never eat chocolate again!'... feels guilty because they end up eating a piece of chocolate or even just thinking about eating some chocolate. And then there are self-esteem issues.... some people don't think they deserve to be healthier and slimmer. They think that their healthy lifestyle is somehow self-indulgent.
I don't know if any of those apply to you but would suggest that a good way to take 'guilt' out of your healthy lifestyle is to be flexible in your approach, forgiving of mistakes and to enjoy the lifestyle on its own merits, rather than as a means to an end.
