Why is my energy level low?
Asked by anonymous on Mar 15, 2009 in Weight Maintenance

I eat a super-healthy diet of 1500 calories a day and I exercise 5 days a week. I get an "A" almost every day on the food log, and I get 7 hours of sleep each night.  I'm trying to lose 10 pounds.

Answer

Besides over-training and lack of sleep (perhaps you need more than 7 hours), general fatigue has many causes, such as allergies, depression, thyroid disease, and others.  But from your information on the back end, I can see that you are under-eating as well.  You may be choosing high quality foods, but you don’t eat enough of them.  Presently, your BMI is 20.5, and so you should not lose another pound.  To maintain your current weight, eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day.
