I just read the calorie-count FAQ article, and noticed the bit about not getting enough calories in your diet. Honestly, I'm a little scared by it since I think I only get about 1000 calories per day... is this far too little to be healthy? I admittingly feel fine - I'm not starving or anything - but am I doing damage to my body without knowing it, aka destroying muscle? To give you all a good idea about a typical day for me, my meals usually consist of:
Breakfast: one medium banana, one cup of white or green tea
Lunch: either a Subway Wrap w/ turkey, swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, and fat-free onion sauce with a side of apples, or a Robek's power smoothie with a vegan cookie.
Dinner: Usually depends, but some of the more popular choices are a Turkey Burger with lettuce, tomatoes, and honey mustard sauce with a side House salad with a fat-free vinigarette, or Baked Sole stuffed with crabmeat with a side of veggies (usually green beans, asparagus, broccoli or carrots).

1,000 calories per day is generally considered too little to be healthy unless you're a very short and skinny female.
23 year old male, between 6"1 and 6"2, last weight was 194.8 lbs.
entirely to low!
You should try to eat atleast 200-300 more calories per day. Just be careful not to start chowing on calorie loaded unhealthy foods to met a calorie goal. Maybe try adding some whole wheat toast with a spread you like to breakfast. Or add in a snack around midday of something like a fruit or veggie. I wish you the best of luck and I hope I have been of some help. :)
yeh i think u may need a few more calories...
i agree with rosiebud2 add them to your breakfast.. all that stuff everyone says about metabolism etc.. its true!
maybe a bowl of cereal or something for breakfast.. and allow yourself a piece of fruit or something like that as a morning or afternoon snack!
Whps517, that 1200 limit is for your average, not too tall, FEMALE. Your average, not too tall, man is supposed to get no less that 1500 calories a day! And you are 6' 2"! 1500 calories a day is the bare minimum of what your body needs to get proper nutrition to run itself, rebuild musle and cells, breathe all day, etc. You may feel fine at the moment, but if you continue to short change your body, it is going to effect your health negatively, and may lower your metabolism as your body tries to get by on less than it needs. Think of it this way, if you are trying to drive a car from LA to New York, you wouldn't put half a tank of gas in it and think you would make it all the way. You would fill that tank up, and then refuel as necessary. Add some healthy snacks into your day, and use the tools here to find out what you need to eat to get a healthy deficit going. (500-1000 calorie deficit, max! and I would advice no more than an 800 calorie deficit.) At your height and weight, I would recommend a 1700-1900 calorie a day diet, with daily exercise. More if you exercise a lot.
1500 for men who are sedentary. If you're exercising, bump it up by a few hundred calories at least until you have an idea how your diet and exercise are effecting your body.
