enough is enough. NO MORE BINGEING.
(edit: changed the name of the group, since everyone is at different days
)
So since I've started using calorie counter, i've lost 15 lbs and I feel great! But more recently I have starting bingeing horribly, my stomach feels like a bottomless pit and nothing seems to satisfy me. I know how horrible it is, and the reasons why I binge(whether its emotional/life etc) but nothing stops me.
I have come to the notion, that I keep telling myself 'never again' although this just starts the bingeing cycle. The all or nothing thinking gets me everytime and usually if I eat too much before noon (aka over my calorie intake), i just put everything in and keep eating like that all day because the whole day is ruined.
NEW THINKING: I'm going to move on and don't let my overeating result in ruining the rest of my day.
I found this in another forum, and I want to quote it: it really pushed me to make this post :
"It's a misconception for us bingers that binging is inevitable. The urge to binge, like the urge to do anything else, can and will pass if we give it time. But time is also an issue for us. We tend to be impulsive by nature and once we feel we've hit that point of no return, we believe there's no sense in trying to stop it. Having said that, there is also wisdom in knowing your triggers and staying clear of them for a time, learning how to deal with your emotions/stresses in a more effective way, and getting support."
Anyways ANYONE who wants to start this no bingeing journey ...join.
WE can get through this TOGETHER one day at a time.![]()
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Motivation forum, and PMed OP about it
ok so as of right now im in the middle of my third day with no binge!!! weekends usually tend to be the hardest for me tho. I find that when i drink a 16 oz PLAIN nonfat latte it really curbs my afternoon hunger/munchies!
This is one of the 2 worst times of the day for me. From 3-6, and then from 7-9.
I just had some prunes, and I'm chewing gum and drinking water. My chocolate is marked with "FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY".
I'm doing ok at the moment, but I'm cleaning my desk to kill time.
I ALMOST binged on trail mix-- and we know how many calories are in just a few tablespoons of that stuff!!!-- but I stopped and probably only ate about 200 cal worth... but that's a lot better than the whole container!
I am doing o.k for now, But, my husband is going to practice and I usually make something while he's gone, bored I guess, maybe I will paint my nails or take a long hot bath.
Ooooh, trail mix is SO hard. With that salty/sweet combo, you can just keep eating it. I keep away from the stuff. Good for you for putting it down!
After my prunes I had a string cheese, then I REALLY wanted a fruit bar... But I held out. Only 1 more hour until I'm done with work and then I'm sure I can hold off until dinner time.

PEDICURE! Take the bath, and pumice your feet while you're in. Then you can finish your pedicure when you're out. So satisfying, and the whole ordeal usually takes me over an hour and a half (bath + pedi). :)
Glad to see everyone is doing pretty well. I ate a few cookies at work today so I decided to forgo the snack that I had packed. However, driving home from work I had such an urge to just eat the snack too, but I managed not to. I feel like an addict taking it moment by moment, but that's where I am right now. I just have to keep working at not giving in- it's so hard sometimes- especially when I can justify the little indiscretions. As much as I enjoy being thinner I still struggle with food. I'd like to lose 20 more pounds but I don't think that's going to happen until I get this binge stuff under control.
So far I've maintained today and I think I'm probably going to be fine if I stay out of the kitchen. Hope you all have a good evening-Dianne

Did the bath, did the pedi (good idea, thanx), did a facial mask, husband is home!
Yaaah! Hope everyone is doing good!
Okay so my day is over, I know its quite early. I did really well today, i have a 800 cal deficit
But i start full time work tomorrow, and Im going to go to bed a lot earlier now!!! Snacking at work is a big issue for me, so wish me luck!!!!!
But everyones day seems to be going well, keep it up everyone!!!!!!
Just think how good you will feel, and DAY 3 is just around the corner!!!
Lattes sound like a great curb craving, im definately going to try that - thanks for that kelsey!!!
I'm really proud of everyone, it seems like everyone is cutting back and controlling themselves. YAY
DAY 2 = COMPLETE
So...day two of no binging, yay! This is usually the worst time for me...unwinding in front of the tv, yet not totally interested in whatever's on..ugh.
Getting ready for bed.
Day 2 Complete!
Day 2 - Holding strong
No binging for me but friday I have an overnight party and saturday - monday I'm going to be camping so those are going to be the tough days for me.
Day 2 - Check!
It certainly wasn't easy. Again, I just really tried to keep myself distracted. Also, when I had the urge, I tried to ignore it for 20 minutes. If I was still hungry after that, then I ate, but if not, then I was in the clear.
3 days no binge!!!!i can do this and we all can do this!!!
DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3 DAY 3
Quick fact:
Did you know that it takes 21 days to form a habit.
Therefore if we keep this up for 21 days, we will form a habit of not binging wahoo!!!!
Great job guys, i know you can do it!!!!!!
STAY STRONG!!!

Good morning, everyone! I seem to be over the little binge-monster from yesterday. Hopefully today will be a little easier for all of us.
3 days down and 19 to go for that new habit!
Oh man, 21 days is SO long. I think the longest I've gone without a binge is 2 weeks. :(
I just had my mid morning snack, and I'm still hungry. I didn't have time to make my lunch today. This is going to be a ROUGH one!
Pretty good day so far - I had french fries with lunch (and budgeted for them) and I'm still under my calories before dinner. I realized that I was not quite hitting my goal calories the last few days by going under. That is also a sure trigger for a binge for me.
Hope everyone had a great day!
How's everyone else doing?
Do you know of a good indoor electric grill?
