How do pounds equate to women's plus sizes?
Asked by moralesg1 on Nov 04, 2009 in Weight Loss

Answer

Unfortunately, the measurements of women's plus size clothing varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.  A 1X top in one brand could be a 3X in another. Furthermore, plus sizes are based on the measurements of the bust, waist and hip, not on weight.  And the fabric content of a garment makes a difference in fit as well.  Most catalogue sellers publish a chart of measurements by size. (See this example from OneStopPlus.com)  And they tell you how to take your measurements too.  In general, changes in size do not correlate with weight loss, unless the change in size is quite significant.
