Does everyone have facebook? ....

Quote  |  Reply

So, i dodged the entire facebook / myspace thing (maybe im getting old?) ... but i keep seeing people my age or older talking about their facebook / myspace!

Does everyone have this? Or are there still people like me who just dont get it / need it?

I had one, but I don't anymore. I have a myspace, but mostly for my little sisters and I to stay in touch since they rarely use email.

Yes.  I avoided it for a long time but finally gave in.  Apparently everyone I know already has it - including my grandmother!  I don't really use it for much but my cousin was doing a genetics project for school and it was pretty useful her to be able to interview everyone in our family in a thread.

i love it.

edit: facebook, that is.  i tried myspace, but found it too involved.

I have both, but I rarely use facebook. I'm more of a myspace junkie. :)

nope

Nope.  I'm 28, and I seem to be the ONLY one I know that's not on it.  I keep getting invites, but I'm just not "in to it".

I have had my myspace since I was 13.

I will never convert to facebook. I refuse!

I have both as well.  had Myspace for a long time.  Recently, I finally broke down and joined Facebook too.  I find Facebook hard to navegate, but everyone I've talked to says that it just takes some time to get used to.

Myspace was always something I considered to be custom designed as a way to torture online epileptics. So many myspace pages are filled to the rafters with pulsating imagery and terrible indy band tracks (who will most likely stay indy).

Facebook is actually somewhat usable, and yes, I have a page. Helps me keep track of the peeps we hang out with in jamaica, friends I left on the other side of the continent and whatnot. Birthdays and anniversaries and so forth. Quite handy.

I got a Facebook account when it first started and was just for uni kids now there are too many applications and stupid crap on the pages. Myspace has become the same way. That said, it's an easy way to stay in touch so I continue to use it. I prefer facbeook, though.

yeah, you have to get used to ignoring people ;)

I use both myspace and facebook. I guess I prefer facebook. I really only use myspace to keep up with local bands/venues.

My parents are both on Facebook! I don't think my mum really gets it, but my step-dad loves it. He's very social and he's started talking to a bunch of people he knew in high school. He finds that really fulfilling. Especially since he travels for work, he can now get to meet up with all these people he hasn't seen in years all over the country!

I think it's just your personality. I wouldn't get Myspace, though, unless you're 13...

MySpace is the poor man's Facebook.

I have myspace. It's a great way for me to keep in touch with friends back home, since my hubby is in the military we will be moving often and I think it's just best sure fire way to keep in touch. My hubby's mom actually just got one too, helping to keep in touch with her kids & family. I like it and log on loyally everyday. I know people from ages 13-70.. mostly for keeping in touch with people far away =0)

I only got it a few months ago because friends on here were posting photos on fb and I couldn't see them but now i think it's great.

With all the moving around I do, I need it! :)  It's just so much easier to keep in touch with people instead of writing them or hurting a friend's feelings when i don't get a chance to email them back right away. PLUS I never have to remember birthdays, new babies, etc, because it pops up everytime I log in! :)

Most of my facebook friends are people I knew while going to school in Italy... and myspace is full of friends from the military... both private and I only accept invites from people I already know... I can barely keep up with the friends I have now.

i have myspace and i love it. it's good for keeping in touch with distant friends and well as my current friends and friends that i've previously been stationed with

yeppp i have one!

I have both but prefer Myspace... mostly love them because, as stated above, it helps to keep in touch with people.  I am somewhere with no family or friends around (well, no "real friends") and myspace and facebook help a lot when i am able to access the sites.
