Where does everyone get their names from?

Okay, I'm curious...there are so many "login-names" out there (and hopefully some of them are not your real names ;); but, I'm curious...how did some of you guys come-up with yours???

Anyone want to spill?  I've seen "secret_squirrel" and that made me go..."huh?"; hence, this post!!!!

Hunny because that is one of my nick names and 13 because it is my favorite number. :)

Well well ... when I first entered the cyberworld 9 years ago by setting a webpage, I didn't want people to be able to guess I'm a girl so wanted to choose a neutral name - and I came by an asexual organism called hydra in Biology.  Only to find later that it's a snake-headed monster in Greek mythology ^^""" (And lazy because I should really have been studying for exams)

there was a post about this before.  I got mine from my hubby when we first started dating!  Neither one of remember why exactly but originally it was slapasorus and he shortened it to slappy!  if we could just remember why!!!!

my5sky = hubbys initials / how many people were in our family / my initials. 

However, since we had Alexandria 2 years ago it should technically be my6sky - but doesn't sounds as good:)

betterbe......I knew there was a great need for me to change my eating habits..........So I better be getting started...got me my name.

Well my grandaughters name is kristen...I used to log in under my own name with numbers but it is almost always taken any more even with my fav numbers so I came up with something easy for me to remember. 

My hubbie calls me Devil Woman...devwo...from the movie Billy Madison where the old lady tries to warn her hubbie Earl not to "step in another bag of the flaming poo."  And his reply is "Don't tell me what to do Devil Woman!!!"  That's me!!!!  Apparently when he thinks I am telling him what to do...that's what I get called!

hey there.. i posted my response to this question under the other posting but long story short.. i was in a bad place in college (1990-1994.. yes i was using irc and elm that long ago from the college main frame.. i'm such a geek) and i thought naming myself after a black crystal formed by molten lava would be too cool.. and it stuck.. i spell it either way the normal way "obsidian" or the way i have it here.. but the normal way always seems to be taken so i add the y.. :)  

Weelllll, i used to try and be everthing but myself.  So, this is me now.  I use my real name because it makes me more careful what I do and say --- more respectful of how others need to be treated.

It's for the fairy in sleeping beauty... only they spell it merryweather I think.. but this way looks cuter.  When I was like 15 and passing notebooks around and what not, my friends and I had are little secret names, and they were fauna and flora.. and I was meriwether.  I'm not sure why we picked the fairy's from sleeping beauty... but it's one of the nicknames from when I was younger that I like.  Being a fairy is just a neat idea:)

I have a much younger sister that I adore.

Mine is just my initials and part of my last name.  Not very imaginative I know.

It's just the way I felt when I joined. I wanted Fatty but it was taken so I came up with Lardo.

My neice calls me Sassy and then 06 for the year.

My sister says its fitting.... I think its adorable b/c its my neice's idea.

Mine is a nickname someone gave me several years ago. It just stuck. There aren't many ways to shorten Nina...my given name. Actually, neeners is a bit longer....hmmmm. Strange times.

Baby D... I've always been the youngest one in my group of friends, so they always called me "baby", e.g. "oh the baby can't go to the clubs yet" (back when I was 17 and they were all 18+). People also call me "D" instead of "Diana", so I became known as Baby D.
