why does everything have to be so frustrating?
hey guysss... okay so im letting off some steam here.
but im nineteen, 5'6" and a half, i got down to 127 lbs, and i work all the time so i dont usually have much time to work out.. i do it maybe once or twice a week, but ive still been losing weight
i wanna maintain 127 but this week has been kind of a disaster.. i usually eat about 1500 cals a day but last week i was averaging 1700-1800, this week im averaging like 1900 almost and my weights up to 132.. im freaking out. i dont know how much i should be eating to maintain 127 but it took me so long to get there now i just feel like i wasted my time..
i had a bingeing problem this past year up until about march and ive been doing so well till now.. im kinda worried its gonna come creeping back up on me since ive been having trouble controlling what ive been eating lately..
anyone have any words of wisdom? :( i really need some help on this one.
As far as not having time to work out, maybe you could find ways to get exercise such as walking to work or climbing stairs or walking to stores, or just making sure when possible to get in some physical actitivity through the course of your day. Even 30 minutes of exercise 4 or 5 times a week such as a vigorous walk or a jog will do wonders for you.
As far as calories go, 1500 is not enough. I think 1800 is far better and maybe even more than that. You need to jumpstart your metabolism in the morning, by having a really good breakfast with good protein in it. Go up to the tabs at the top of this site and check out things like Foods and Exercise. Try to eat 5 additional smaller meals during the day after having a good breakfast. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and lean meats and fish and whole wheat breads and pasta.
This dieting, maintaining, eating healthy is not an easy path for most of us. You need to check some online calculators, and you will find that 1500 calories is not enough for maintaining. You may have tricked your body into burning fewer calories than it should be. Don't get discouraged about gaining a few pounds; this happens to all of us. What you really want to do is find time to follow some of the paths (Tabs at top) on this site and others that will lead you to healthy foods you can incorporate into your diet. I really think you will find that 1800-1900 calories a day will not make you gain weight once you get your body's metabolism burning the way it should be.
Try using a Search Engine and put in phrases like "how many calories does a teenage girl need" and "what are healthy foods for teenage girls" and "what should a teenage girl's basal metabolism rate be" and "what are good exercises for teenagers," etc.
Trust me, the fact that you want to eat healthy and understand that you need to get a good plan of attack makes you way ahead of the game. You definitely can achieve your goals; eating healthy and doing moderate exercise will allow you to be successful!
Best of luck in all things!
not only is 1500 not nearly enough
127 is VERY low for your height
youre eating more bc your body is hungry! your body obviously does not feel healthy at that weight
I heartily agree with Agruskin that 127 is veerrrrrry low for your height! I know how hard it is to be okay with one's body. I do not, in any way, want to offend you, but I think that you could go through/maintain some self-esteem boosting exercises, and with that, you will begin to love yourself the way you can and should. Maintaining your weight can be just as troublesome as losing weight, but you should air caution on eating only 1500 calories as you are not fully developed physically or mentally.

No it's not. She's at the low end of her BMI but still at a healthy weight.
Xfal, weight fluctuates, that's just how it works. Keep eating healthy, keep exercising, don't weigh so often it drives you crazy. You could make 135 your upper limit, so now just up your exercise a little and stay away from the french fries. You'll be okay.
xfallformex3, you are at a healthy weight for your height so great job on achieving that!! If these plp would check out the BMI they would know that 127 is healthy. I struggle with the same fluctuation sometimes and like the person above said, don't weight yourself so often and don't weight yourself during your period. Try to get back on track with counting calories and you will be fine. Peace!
Being at a clinically healthy weight does not mean the weight is healthy for a certain individual. Some people are naturally more healthy at higher BMIs; if you are having a lot of trouble maintaining a certain weight (ie have to 'maintain' on a low calorie intake) then the weight is probably not natural or healthy for you.
hey everyone..thanks for the replies.. i appriciate everyones advice.
just to clarify tho, while i was eating 1500 a day i wasnt maintaining i was losing.. the problem was that even tho i wanted to switch to maintaining, the past two weeks when ive been eating more, my weight went up quite a bit.
but anyways, thanks again for the responses, ill keep everything you said in mind !!
