What is exactly a binge?
Is it simply going over your calories or is it stuffing urself endlessly?
What do you eat when you binge?
to me there is a huge difference in just havin an overage and bingeing.
sometimes i just eat wayyyyyyy too much of somethin when i binge, mindlessly, or on purpose....
and sometimes when its rly bad i will just eat everything.
pretty literally.
even stuff im not that fond of.
even when im not hungry.
its this desire for the fullness.
theres no self control when this happens, its just me, livin in that moment, feedin my face like crazy.
way way way over what i should take in.
not just like oops i had 1800 instead of 1600....
no way worse
A binge is excessive overeating to the point of pain or being sick. Some people describe feeling 'out of body' or 'out of control' when they binge... a semi trance-like state. Going over the calories from time to time is not a binge. Having a dessert when you don't mean to is not a binge.
What bout eating almost 1000 calories over your target calories? It was mini blueberry muffins that they advertise as "healthy."
I feel so guilty today! What do to about the guilt and move on?
It could be a binge, especially if you felt like you had absolutely no control over yourself. But don't worry, recognize it for what it was and just put it behind you. I know the guilt is horrible, but to help move past it, it sometimes helps to think of the reasons why you binged so as to better prevent another one from occurring. For example, you may have been eating to few calories for the last few days, or been under a lot of stress.
Although it may be difficult, try to think positive things about your body, even if you feel guilty By not putting yourself down about your binge it will be easier for you to continue with your day normally, and to make healthier choices.
If you have time, you also may want to exercise (once you don't feel stuffed). Not only will you burn off some of the calories, but it will release endorphins in your brain and you will feel happier
!
A thousand calories seems like a lot. But if you compare your total calories to your maintenance calories and factor in excercise - you probably really only over did it by a few hundred calories or even not at all. Of course, if you are trying to lose weight your overage will not assist you. But its not a killer.

I don't suppose 1000 cals added up to many muffins? I can see how they'd be quite more-ish and slip down without touching the sides. 1000 cals of broccoli... now that would be a mammoth amount of food.
Guilt is for the birds. So you ate more than you planned. I expect there were other mistakes you made recently that you've decided to gloss over? Did you drive over the speed limit at any stage? Did you react by sitting sobbing by the side of the road wracked with guilt or did you shrug your shoulders and keep driving? The beauty of being a human being is that if you open your eyes in the morning and you're still alive, you get chance to start afresh. Make the most of it.
Ok, I'm over last night. I'm doing as planned today, but this is starting to worry me because I do this every 3-4 days. I eat well, then I can't take it and over eat.
Why is this happening? Is it just a discipline thing that I have to work on?
I'm 5'3, 129, target is 1300. Last night, I estimate i ate 2200 or so . Didn't even log it :( too hard to look at lol
constant binging could be a sign that your caloric intake isn't high enough or that you aren't eating the right foods to keep you full. or it could be a whole other animal and be psychological. it's hard to tell when we don't know you ![]()

I sometimes binge when I feel out of control of life and don't know where to start, so I usually start in the refrigerator. Not fun, I hate when I feel that way. I make sure none of my comfort foods are around, which is a bit of a crazy maker if I'm going through an emotional roller coaster. I do find it passes, even though it feels like it never will. In the need of getting away from that feeling I end up tackling some other project and things smooth out.
So my binges are emotional or hormonal, and I generally know how bad it is by how fast the cats and dog clear out of the kitchen....
its a total loss of control over food... not necessarily if you are hungry but more of a psychological thing... well for me at least... binges are started bc i overrestrict and get SO hungry that i just go nuts on food... and after eating i just continue even though physically my body is not hungry anymore, just this mental thing takes over like 'i need sweets". it sucks. :(

You might want to try upping your daily calories to 1400 or 1500 and see if you feel more full and don't feel the urge to overeat.

you are already at a healthy weight.... but just make sure you don't restrict too much because this is what always happens to me... i tend to grow really hungry because after a few days of not eating much my body i guess catches up with me and i end up "binging" and feeling terrible afterwards. I've been trying to up my calories lately so that i never get to that uncontrollable point... hopefully all will go well. good luck!
