I am really confused. I have been dieting and excercising for the past 6 months. I have a trainer twice a week and walk on the treadmill 4 days a week. I lost 23 pounds but for the past month the scale has not moved. I reduced my calorie intake to a measily 900 to 1000 a day and it has not helped. When I fould this website and put in the info it tells me I should eat 2150 calories a day!! That seems like so much food! I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and my weight is 194. I am so anxious to be rid of the 190's. Can anyone tell me how many calories I should consume a day?

someone with your stats definitely shouldn't be eating only 900-1000 cals a day. that's not nearly enough food. i'd try the 2150 calories a day, and see if it works. i've come to find that cc is usually pretty accurate in the amount it tells you. you should only have a 500-1000 cal deficit from the amount of calories you're burning a day. anymore and your body goes into starvation mode.
"You burn 2000 calories during a typical day. Remember that this estimate is based on your body weight, height, age, gender, and your average level of activity"
This is what I got with your Stats on Sedentary. This means that if you sat on your butt all day, you would maintain your current weight if you ate 2000 calories every day.
The lowest amount a adult female should consume is 1200 calories, this is because your organs require this amount to run. If you choose to eat less than what your organs can run on, IT WILL use your muscle tissue, not fat, to make up the difference.
The highest calorie deficit you should maintain is 800 a day. This will allow a 1.6lb loss each week.
Please remember, if you exercise, you will need more than 1200 calories because whatever you burn off subtracts from your calories eaten that day.
So 1200+ exercise calories to keep yourself healthy.
If you choose, you can have a smaller deficit daily, and still lose weight, provided you eat less than what you burn.
Example: You can eat 1500 calories with no exercise, and still lose 1lb a week.

What does your trainer think of you eating such a small number of calories?
You don't loose weight, you lose it.
