How much excercise/calories to maintain?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm 5'4", female, 37 years old,  and now weigh 118 lbs, down from 132. I've been working out a lot,  6-7 days a week, lots of running, playing tennis (singles), working out at the gym. I've also been eating really well, clean whole foods, avoiding processed food whenever possible. I've got an athletic build, strong arms, legs, not skinny.  I've got pretty good muscle definition. I can wear a size 25 in jeans now.

People are saying I'm becoming too thin. I think I'm okay, but I probably shouldn't lose anymore weight.

I think I'm still going to be working out a lot, but maybe I should try to cut down a little? I still want to stay in shape - how often do I need to work out?

And I've never been one to calorie count, I pretty much eat when I'm hungry. But I think when I lost weight, I was eating probably 1500-1700 calories a day. To be honest, I'm a little afraid to eat more calories, because I don't want to gain any weight back.

So basically, what do I need to do to stay in the current condition I'm in?

Thanks!

people told you that you become thinner it's because they are used to see you 132 lbs.. :)

it's just a normal reaction to our body.. Fats are burned out and your muscles become leaner.. :)

And the exercise you did is definitely for muscle tone.. :) that's normal.. :)

Increase your calorie intake slowly... Say 1900 next week, 2100 the week after and so forth...  Eating when you're hungry isn't a bad way to operate but if you've been restricting in order to lose weight your appetite might be affected and you'll need to eat more in order to get it back.  Keep working out if you enjoy it
