how much excercise

just wondering how much excercise is a healthy amount to do? any replies appreciated!

that sounds a nice amount unless your talking hours which i'm sure your not haha

If you don't quantify your question, you can't expect a quantified answer.

do you mean the purpose of the excercise etc?

As much as you have trained to be able to do.

what kind of exercise? how intense? for how long? how old are you? how much do you weight? what's your current physical condition? what are your goals?

30 mins a day minimum.

60 mins a day to maintain.

90 mins a day to lose.

you actually don't need ANY exercise to lose; you just need to eat less than your sedentary burn.

Look up what the surgeon general recommends, or talk to a personal trainer.  If you are talking about days, it's good for your body to have a day off during the week.  If you are talking about minutes, floggingsully is right, in that one would need a lot more information to determine an accurate 'suggestion' (if you will.)  You will get a lot of varying answers as people from all walks of life offer up "advice" in these threads.  You can always ask for examples, though.  Personally, I work-out 6 days a week, with a good balance of varying cardio and weight training.  I think talking with a personal trainer would be a good place to start! =) 

i go to curves gym which is mainly toning excercises and i go for half hour-3/4 hour sessions and i am starting yoga on monday which is an hour per session! i also want to get into jogging as i want to do variety of excercise. if i did one of those excercises mon-fri would that be a reasonable amount or too much or too little?

i just never know how much to do! last year i over-excercised a little i think so i'd like to try and get a good balance

any examples of what you do would be great
