What exercise or anything that i can do for my thighs not to be fat but NOT MUSCULAR?
I am currently doing the elliitical and i dont know if its working i just dont feel a change or maybe the results are coming on too slow. What other exercise would help or what can i do to shed off inches of my thighs and make my thighs not touch until liike 3 inches down from my private. right now they touch about 5 inches above my knee and i want them to almost never touch except alittle bit. i am trying a new diet someone said to shed your calories about 500 per day i am going to go on a yogurt diet my friend shed so many pounds and i love the body that she got out of it. i am going to eat fruit vegetables salad and yogurt hopefully i lose a lot of weight and muscle from it. can you please help me and give me advice on that it WILL work and a different exercise or if im just better off on the ellipitcal but like tell me what to do in order to get my goal maybe im putting to much force on myself or who knows please just help me im trying so hard!

Keep doing the cardio..it's excellent for all over fat burning. My favorite exercise for my thighs/butt is like this:
Take a big exercise ball, and put it against the wall, holding it there with your lower-mid back, keeping it between you and the wall, then..do squats. Lower until you're about to touch an invisible chair with your butt, then raise back up.
It's easy, and the ball is a nice buffer..makes it so much smoother to move up and down against the wall. I do about 30-40 once or twice a day, and let me tell you..it's worked wonders for my thighs and behind.
So much firmer, slimmer and tighter. Less jiggle and wiggling when I walk.

are you female? are you on steriods? are you on a strict muscle building regimine that takes hours of dedication a day plus a very detailed diet? No? ok, you're not going to build muscle. Period. end of story.
Cardio is no better at burning fat than not eating those calories at all. When I want to strip my body of muscle and look like an unhealthy stick I run a lot so I guess you could try that
when I want to look healthy and awesome, I do heavy (relative to me) weights; squats, lunges, deadlift
The two above me have covered pretty much everything, but i have something else to add:
I, too, measure my thighs by where (or in my case, if) they touch. Normally mine dont touch at all, but i can still eyeball how much space there is between them. I've noticed that after an exercise that really works my legs, they are about an inch or so bigger than normal, so you might want to pay attention to WHEN you 'measure' your thighs.
What's wrong with muscle?
Yogurt diet? I would suggest you rethink that. Diets don't work. They may allow you to loose weight quickly but you will gain in back and may gain even more. It is all about a lifestyle change. Clean/balanced eating and finding a workout routine you can stick to. Lifting and HIIT are 2 of the best types of fat loss activities you can do. Girls don't bulk up. We do not produce enough testosterone to get bulky. Muscle tone is good. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn just living.
I lift heavy 3 days a week, do cardio 6 days a week. HIIT 3 of the 6. I do calisthenics, squats, lunges, planks, push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, hanging leg lifts and I am not bulky. I am tone and have good definition.

You certainly seemed fixated on the thighs touching with your repeated posts. Im not sure what it means to you. Mine dont touch yet Im barely crossing from obese BMI to overweight BMI. My hips, like my shoulders, are broad but the fat still settle at my outer hips while the inner thighs have a gap.
You can not control where you lose fat through diet nor exercise anymore than you can change your skeletal frame.
Your parents determined how your body would lose weight when you were conceived.
Your friend ended up with a certain body shape because of her DNA, not her diet.
Exercising will tone muscles but has no affect on fat surrounding that muscle. Calories burned pulls fat from where our bodies are programmed to. It be great to believe the diets or exercise claiming otherwise, but science tells us theyre lying.
raychelc don't your thighs and butt bulk from muscle from that because of all the weight your putting on yourself to move up and down?
spirochete when you run and want to look like a stick doesn't it make your body build muscle because of all the weight your putting on your body?
I can't see that it makes any difference. As long as your muscles are strong, you'll look fine. Also, large muscles burn more calories when you use them. Nothing wrong with big, strong thighs!
Wow, I just looked at your prior posts, and every single one is about thighs. For the sake of your sanity, stop fixating on a minor, insignificant flaw.

I have been a power lifter for years. Lifting heavier weight than many of the guys at my gym, doing very old school lifts and eating pretty much a bodybuilder diet(just way too much of it!)
In the last three years, Ive gained about 20 lbs. My measurements are bigger, because I am carrying more weight in the form of fat. But, my legs actually look far far better than they did when I was 20lbs thinner because muscle looks really really awesome!
I can only imagine how great they will look when I get rid of the extra fat and you can really see the muscle underneath

why in any world would you want to lose muscle? the point is to keep muscle mass intact to the best of our abilities while losing fat. see above comments re: metabolism.
if you are female, it is highly unlikely you are going to get all buff and beefy unless you are really trying hard and devote your life to it. for the rest of us, muscle keeps us strong, gets us through life. without it, were would we be? weak and immobile making more fat!
cross training, ie; having more than one type of activity is always good. i find fast paced walks with the occasional jog, kind of my version of modified HIIT works wonders for all sorts of fat burning. im strong like an ox, but i'm not buff, im fat and have poor endurance. as the fat burns, endurance increases and i'm available for more varied types of activity. not buff! trimmer, maybe a bit leaner, have a bit more fun out in the world, but soooo not buff. i know female weight lifters that aren't buff. they just have fun being strong and working out. still femme, not buff.
the only way to really live in a body, seems the consensus is here, is sanely. make good food choices, get decent exercise-including a variety of types (for several reasons) and be patient with yourself. your a whole body, a heart, a liver, a brain, a lot of intestine, a torso with all its parts, skin, bones, you get the point: not just "fat" thighs. and its a good thing to be a whole body. enjoy the journey!
why dont you try yoga?? it ALWAYS tones me up.. it helps with breathing when you are doing cardio and you get a great bum from it too lol

You could walk with your legs apart to keep thighs from touching.
Spiro, a solution to your problem is a little more difficult, maybe walking everywhere in a squat position :P
Avoid using your legs at any cost. Remain seated at all times, no walking. That way, your leg muscles can atrophy down to nearly nothing.
