I am new as of today.  I started an exercise program of working out on a walking machine (cant think of name of it right now) walked for 15 minutes at a good brisk walk.  How do I enter this information on  my journal.  thanks

are you walking on a treadmill?

Welcome!  To enter activities into your activity log, click on My Account, click on LOGS, choose Activity log (on the left of the page).  Then type "walking" into the box, and hit return.  Choose the speed you were walking, click on the highlighted term and add it to your log.

If you wish to annotate it in your journal -- go COMMUNITY, go JOURNALS,  click new entry.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask

 

yes a treadmill - it actually has a weight loss program on it, but can not do it yet - too much too fast.  But it is my goal to go on it.  How often should I do exercise.  Thanks

your ultimate goal should be 60 mins of exercise 4-6 times per week.  Having said that -- most people start out right where you are, 10-15 mins, 3-5 times per week. Try to add another 10-15 mins every couple of weeks.

If you haven't already, you should check with your doctor before attempting a strenuos exercise routine

Good.  I do not have info on fibro, however there have been multiple posts regarding that, I'll try to refer you to some.

You have fibro? Welcome to the club!  Can you get to a pool?  I also have a bit of arthritis in my lower spine- walking in water is much easier on the body.  Don't worry about having to wear a revealing swim suit.  I wear a shirt and shorts- probably look pretty hiliarious.  Good luck in your efforts toward health.
