Since I started counting calories and excercising I have noticed that I now have more gas than before <~ that's gross, I know, sorry! Lol... I'm not really eating anything different though.  I have always eaten pretty healthy foods.  If anything, I'm eating more than I used to, but not different foods.  Any ideas on why I've been feeling bloated and gassy?

Thanks!

Hey,

I am pretty much the same...not so much feeling gassy a lot but everytime after i exercise, i have to go #2!!!  Sorry I know thats gross but it happens!

Maybe because it loosens everything up in there...LOL.

So you are not alone!
More gas could be the result of swallowing air during exercise because you're breathing heavily.

As far as #2 goes, my theory is that exercise increases the metabolic process, and probably helps move things through our bodies faster.

I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV, but I do watch House every week.  LOL

I assume you are eating differently now since you said you started counting calories.  I think the gas is caused by a change in eating habits.  Are you eating a high amount of fiber?  Also did you switch to eating any sugar free candies?  Either one of those will do it.
When I wasn't eating right I did find that when i would really get into working out (cardio mainly) i'd end up getting gas during the actual exercise.   But since I've switched to water and changed my eating habbits and been counting calories my gas hasn't been a problem much at all.

It must be something you are eating or drinking.
change in diet = gas

also what the poster said above about it increasing your metab.

get some of that dannon activa - it cured my s.o. a.k.a Sir Fartsalot's  pooties for the days/nights and exercises.

also theres that beano stuff for when you eat a lot of veggies.
Lol. My diet hasn't really changed though.  Yes, I'm counting calories, but I'm eating all of the same food that I have in the past.  I've always been a "health food junkie"... never really have been a fan of junk/fatty foods.  Just now, before I stick it in my mouth, I check the calorie content on it.  Like I said, I may even be eating more, but of the same foods.  I've always been a huge water advocate too, so the amount of water I drink hasn't really changed either.  Really, the only thing that has changed is me working out - that's it!

Thanks for ya'lls input though!
You're also "shaking" things up in there, getting the bacteria excited - like shaking a soda. My husband makes homade rootbeer and I've seen that happen. Plus, moving around releases any gas you had in you to begin with, which otherwise might have built up longer and just exited later on (probably painfully). Rather personal, but I'm assuming your gas isn't painful as it moves through the intestines.

As for....#2....That's an easy one. The best way to prevent constipation is to drink water, eat right, and exercise. This is because exercise moves the bowels around and also tones the muscles and stimulates them. I'd say it's a good sign!

As long as it's not diahrrea, which is definitely NOT a good sign and could mean you are exercising too much or not drinking enough water or loosing too many electrolytes.

(I'm no expert. This is just a compilation of random info I keep in my head and stuff I looked up around the net - from reputable sources.)
