Exercise induced headaches

Quote  |  Reply

Does anyone else experience exercise induced headaches?  And how do you get over them, through them, rid of them, or what do you do to prevent them in the first place?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get headaches from exercise quite often, especially if I run. I usually take 1 advil about a half hour before I hit the gym to prevent them. I don't know how good that is....but it's the only thing I can find that helps. Oh, and drink lots of water before, during and after!

your dehydrated!!!  drink more.   Also try to use more intervals... if your HR gets really high you can get a headach just from that.

I never have a problem with hydration; I am definitely a firm believer of getting all (plus more) of your daily water in, plus a full 16 oz during each hour of a workout (and since this always happens about 10 min into my workouts I haven't sweated too much at this point).

I am a bit anemic (I am on and taking iron pills every day) and think that might have something to do with it.

Reading up on this problem, I think I am going to have to invest in a heart monitor (never thought about that before looking up this issue); my headaches are normally induced in spin class where there are no monitors on the equipment (and I do tend to go a bit to much to soon there).

Thanks for the advise
