Exercise for the Law of Attraction

Quote  |  Reply
Alright, so we know the Law of Attraction works (see my previous post: "I swear this works: Law of Attraction), but how do we actually apply it to our every day lives?

I find visualization really helps. Start by doing this exercise before you go to sleep and/or when you wake up in the morning, then refer to the image every time you encounter a negative thought about your current state of health/bodyshape:

Envision yourself inhabiting the body you want. Imagine yourself somewhere you love to be, and trully feel the mediterranean sun on your face, your shoulders...how do the clothes you're wearing feel against this body? How does your stomach feel? Stand tall and look at your chosen landscape through the eyes of the body you want.

As you get more comfortable, start to imagine yourself bursting with physical activity. Imagine what it feels like to be exhilerated jogging down a trail in the woods! You're alive! Feel it! Trully FEEL it! Make physical activity enlivening to yourself in your visualisation, and it will start to feel that way when you actually do it!

Next, you can do this visualization while on the treadmill or on the elliptical. Imagine yourself in the body you want instead of feeling terrible about the body you have. The more you imagine it, the more you will become it.

Good luck!

Wow, awesome!

Definitely, the more tangible you can make your goal, the easier it will come to you.

People have always said that different horemones create different emotions...

I actually just read a recent study that said they are finding out that it is the opposite: emotions create different horemones! That means you can literally alter your body's chemical composition by altering the feelings you make yourself feel, artificial or otherwise. I don't just mean pretend to smile when you feel like crap. I mean remember what the physical feeling of 'happy' is, and try to feel that in your core...or when your stressed, try to remember what it physically *feels* like to be calm, and you will start to calm down.

Just somethin to think about!
I read something along those lines too shakti... in fact, even the anticipation of a good feeling changes your hormones

kinda explains the whole health differences between optimists and pessimists... maybe  =)
jjdhtp: I do that, too ;D
What a wonderful idea! I think I will be giving this a try tonight. Thank you posting this.:)
bumping this one up too!  Everyone should try this...make it work for yourself!

it works on the concept of the law of attraction and visualisation. have you watched 'the secret'? the same concepts apply. bob proctor (who was in the DVD) wrote this article) hope it's useful!

i just want to say thank you to everyone in this forum for all the practical advice to apply the law of attraction to daily life. i too am a firm believer in the secret but was struggling to apply it. now i feel more confident that i can apply it daily to my weight loss and other areas of life. thanks!

This does work. The Law of Attraction is very powerful. Though I will admit that it is very hard work. I think that most of us are programed to be negative.

I do this with my weight. I walk around constantly saying that I am my goal weight to myself and knowing it is true. When I don't do this, when I am panicked about gaining weight...guess what?? I gain weight. When I am speaking of my goal weight and have a positive self image, the scale turns those pounds down.

Good reads include: The Secret (good basics), then..Dr. Wayne W Dyer and Esther and Jerry Hicks are my favorite.

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
