Exercise and motivation without a gym?
What do you find in your life that encourages you to try harder or to have fun while your dieting or exercising without getting gym memberships? And let me know if you go out running or walking with your dog (if you have one, of course) to get more exercise and stay motivated.
Is there anything besides actually exercising that you do to get more activity into your day that you enjoy?
I like cleaning and organizing things, which surprisingly burns quite a bit of calories, doing heavy cleaning like even just vacuuming and moving heavy boxes can burn the same amount as jogging. I also like practicing my instrument, its fun, it helps me progress farther in music, and even though it may not burn tons of calories it beats being a sack of potatoes. One thing I also do which is kinda out of the ordinary is attach this collar kind of thing to my rabbit and go out walking/running with my rabbit. Walking a dog? Psh, Walking a dog is for wimps. COOL people have rabbits.

Lol, I had a rabbit and a lead for him but he would never walk on it. He just used to play dead until you picked him up again.
I don't have the money to splash out on a gym membership so my dog is my exercise buddy. He sits at my feet and stares at me until I take him out. We usually walk anywhere between 2 and 4 miles every day and he really doesn't care about the weather.
I use www.mapmywalk.com to log my miles and set myself challenges. This month I am aiming to walk 100miles in 30 days. So far I have done 27.21 miles in 6 days.
That is really cool! I should do that... Maybe I'll run around 50 miles before the thanksgiving marathon I entered. =)
