well I got this ideal from texmom (sorry i didn't know you made the post) when she made the forum what did you eat today so here goes a exercise one come on in share with us the exercise that got you sweating it out

Cody and Alecto, you guys just wear me out, and that is only reading your posts!

I've already expressed my dislike of conventional exercise in a different thread. So you'll notice a major trend in how my workouts don't look like workouts at all.

I went camping last night so I didn't get to post my exercise. This is two days worth.

-Walked roughly 6 miles.

-Climbed halfway up a mountain with no trail. Roughly a mile.

-Played vigorously for about four hours with my son. Mostly tag and a little hide and seek.

-Danced in the bunkhouse with my family for about thirty minutes.

Hey all,

yesterday oct 31 did jazzercise in the morning and then walk trick or treating with the grandbabies.

today 11/1/09 went to church and took off for a hike cross country in the mountains about 3 miles in 90min. loved it. i live in cleveland ga and the leaves are turned and they look beautiful. i just love being close to nature and God, his world is beautiful.

Tomorrow 11/2/09 looking for new gym ours closed and then in the afternoon i will be doing jazzercise again.

Good job to all of those who are getting up and moving even if it's playing with the kids, dancing, walking, or cleaning as long as your moving

I did a 15 min 1 mile walk holding 2 pound weights

Did an insane hike today.  3.1 miles, but incredibly steep, rocky, and treacherous.

Started out about halfway up a ridge, walked to the valley floor.  Then walked up to the highest ridge in the area, walked along the summit for awhile.

Then back to the valley floor and up the opposite ridge.  Walked along the summit before down to the valley and then back up to the trailhead.

This picture I took doesn't do it justice as I angled it up to get the trail.  If I took it straight ahead, you could barely see that log.

I forgot how fun hiking is, 67! I think I'll have to do it more myself. What kind of shoes do you wear when you go?

I bought some sketchers hiking shoes about a month ago and I love them.  I debated on getting the full "boot" for the ankle support, and on the rocky trails like yesterday, they would have come in handy.  They also would help with the water crossings to go up a couple more inches (my wife bought more traditional hiking boots that are also waterproof).

Overall, I've extremely pleased with them.  I spent about $50, which is double what I normally pay for shoes, but I wanted to get something with decent quality.  I answered a trivia question in store, so I got $10 off.

In the spring, I will probably step up to a more advanced shoe/boot.  Men's fitness just had an article showing some of the best, and it looks like I'd be spending closer to $100.

Both Yesterday and Saturday I did 90 minutes of Bikram Yoga.  I did a half hour of low impact aerobics this morning and plan to go to yoga again tonight :).

Did not get to a gym this morning. Did sighn up for a new one about 20 min away. i live in a very small country town not many things close to it. but thats okay i am worth it. So going to the gym tomorrow morning at 7:00am going to work out for an hour to make up for the lose today. I sure did miss it. i felt lazy all day. i have noticed when i work out i have alot more energy. Even my husband feels the same. He is realy excited to get a new gym.

I felt the same way today I couldn't exercise because I had to work go to school and grocery shop today so I really didn't have the time but I made sure to park far from the places I was going into and took the stairs

Today I exercised a bit more than usual because I didn't have work so I could spend more time at the gym:

10 minutes on the stationary bike

20 minutes on the weight machines circuit

65 minutes on the elliptical (5 warmup - 40 max HR - 15 mid-HR - 5 cool-down)

Today headed for gym...

10 minutes on stationary bike for warm-up.

60 minutes of heavy weightlifting with trainer.

30 minutes  on Elliptical Trainer.

With drive time, spent three hours working out tonight. Smile

Good to see everyone moving and shaking in any way that works for them.

I hope it's not too late to jump in this.

I bicycled 20mi. today (about 90minutes) I bicycle at least 6 days a week. sometimes 7.

The only thing that stops me from goin out and riding, is high winds, which we sure get from time to time here in the NV desert. Rain isn't much of a problem. lol

Plus I worked around the yard too for about 2hrs. I usually don't log that though. I have myself listed as "sedentary" in my account settings. I now have energy that I haven't had in years. Perhaps I should change it to" light activity".

Hello all,

Yesterday I came home from work to discover that all of my yoga stuff was dirty.  There is no way I'm putting on stinky, sweaty yoga clothes a second time ew.

I got in a half hour of walking with the Leslie Sansone DVD (2 mile superchallange).

My yoga togs are in the washer as we speak so I'm actually going to write down what I'm going to do today before I do it.

1 half hour Leslie Sansone DVD

90 minutes Yoga

To day I worked 5 hours but still wen to the gym 18 mins on the treadmill 12 mins on the stair master i think that's what it is called and 5 minutes on the stationary bike for cool down

i found a gym and started it this morning. and then found out that our gym did not close, they are closing but it may be the first of the year. but to late we already signed a contract and i like the new one better. we get a free session with a persional trainer tomorrow i am so excited. i walked/ran 2 miles in 30min. and then worked out on some of the weight machines for 30min, so an hour in the gym. they have showers and a tanning bed free of charge with membership.

Good morning fabulous people :) everyone is doing so great!! I'm glad you found a gym you like  RWood that makes a big difference.

I did what I promised you yesterday :)  1/2 hour exercise tape (walk away the lbs with Leslie Sansone) and then a fabu Bikram Yoga Class.

My goal is 5 yoga classes a week (weeks start on Monday) so I've got 3 more classes to go to this week.

Todays Plan:

1/2 hour workout tape

90 minute Bikram yoga class

Its chilly here but still nice so the last two off days from my gym, I have been walking outside.  I live at the end of my street which is about .90 miles long and most of it is UPHILL.  Then I walk the other street (for a big circle about 1.75 miles).  The other street is a rolling up and down, not as steep as our street.  I get about 40 mins in, then came home to do my crunches and work out with my 3lb weights.

Not a bad off gym day!

since I cant do the pool now I do 1 hr on my Ex. Bike and 1 hr on the Gazell.

How do you all find the time to work out? It is a big priority of mine, but every day I find my list of things to do getting longer and longer until there's no daylight left and I am just completely worn out! I work Monday thru Friday from 7am-3pm. I also take online college courses which requires the need to do homework for at least 2 hours a night. Also, I have a 22 month old son at home who I only get to see for a short amount of time during the week. His naptime goes until 4pm and he's back in bed for the night at 8pm...that's only 4 hours a day.

Do you all recommend getting up early and working out before work or trying to find time after?
