It has been a while since i have posted. Some times i have a very hard time sleeping through the night. I wake up and feel the need to eat, so i almost always have a bowl of cereal and head back to bed. However, this makes me feel very awake which means that i lay awake for about two hours during the night when i should be sleeping. This is just one issue that i have, and i know that the hunger is probably real and that i could try to eat more throughout the day, but even when i do this, i still wake up occasionally.
My second problem with sleep this week is completely different. The past few days i have felt so tired all day long. I have felt like i could sleep in past ten o'clock, which i never do that. Furthermore, i haven't woke up in the middle of the night to eat or anything, and now i spend all day at work just battling to stay awake. Does anyone have any experience with either of these problems?

I found in recovery that when I began to eat more I was more tired throughout the day and got tired quicker.
As for the eating at night, do you have a snack before bed? That might help you from waking up to eat something. I find if I get into the habit of waking up at certain times during the night then I keep doing it, maybe try when you wake up not getting out of bed or turning on the light but trying to get straight back to sleep before the sleepyness goes away.
i used to wake up hungry in the , i found the only way to stop this was to more during the day , its a sign your body isnt getting enough i know thats hard to take on . i still struggle with hunger but since ive added more i gone from waking up at 2 and 3 to about 6.30am i hope as i restore more of my weight this will help
as for the sleeping this has been an issue for me to i awake up at 6.30 although ive tried i cant seem to sleep for any longer . i think the reason may be that ive been falling asleep at about 9 o clock in the evening and waking up for supper at 10.30 ive tried not to without luck this is something i need to work on. i stiil get very tired during the day my blood tests showed anaemia which is getting better . have you been tested for this. im sorry if i havnt been much help. i think recovering is just tiring in itself i hope you get it sorted h x
I agree with the other gals, you probabaly need to eat more during the day to stop this cycle. You will sleep better and be less tired during the day. Red meat can help girls with tiredness. Do you have a routine before you go to bed? Setting up a time to quieten down before bed (getting into pj's, reading, turning down the lights), along with a hot milky drink can help sleep too. Good luck and happy sleeping!
Tessa: If you have anamia, i suggest tring to eat more iron, (I dont think you eat much red meat right?-which is a great source of iron)

A good snack right before bed is warm/hot milk. I put in a little bit of honey, a drop of vanilla, and top with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
A hot bath or shower before bedtime also helps me sleep better.
Generally a good idea when the sleep patterns change to have a chat with your doctor. You've gone from waking up at night needing food to pretty much not being able to stay awake even after a full night's sleep and this could also have the double impact of meaning you are getting less nutrition because you are no longer getting up at night to eat that extra amount you need.
The suggestions of anemia are a good place to start. Good luck.
