Did you have extra skin after weight loss?
I want to lose about 50 pounds, but I'm worried I will have a bunch of sagging skin, especially on my abdoman. Has anyone else near my age (46) lost a lot of weight and had a gross amount of extra skin. I see some people on TV with extra skin, but of course they lost 100's of pounds. Is there something I can do to not have extra skin?
Thank you in advance.
Taking it slow goes a long way into helping your skin adapt - if you lose it too fast, it won't have the time too. Which doesn't mean it'll just snap back. It wouldn't completely look like you didn't lose 50 pounds at any age, but the older you are, the less collagen and the less elasticity your skin has. So basically, it's what you can do to make it *better*. Drink a lot of water, do strenght training to tone up, take it slowly and use a good firming cream. I can't recommend cocoa butter cream enough.
It's not gonna be like huge flaps of skin that you can throw over your shoulder though - it'll be a little more saggy than the rest, and maybe a little jigglier, but depending on your skin's natural elasticity, it can also barely show.
Personally, I think some saggy skin is a good trade for 50 pounds off, though.
