Maintaining
Moderators: iae

Alright, different sites give me different answers.

Can someone just flat out tell me how many calories a day I need for gaining and how many I need to maintain.

Just give me numbers for a sedentary lifestyle...

I'm a teenage girl, 14, 5'8", and weigh 118 pounds.

Please & thank youu !

You need 2200 to maintain your weight and between 2700 and 3000 to gain.... possibly more.

However, what I would also add is that, since you're 14 you can expect your body to keep growing for the next 4 - 7 years.  Internally if not outwardly.   Therefore, it's a lot more important that you are well nourished and develop good eating/exercise habits rather than go down the route of calorie-counting.   It's very, very difficult for someone your age to overeat.

good luck Cool
