F11 battery troubles
Hi guys, I'm hoping someone may have some ideas.
Basically, I got a new F11 this summer (my old one kept showing a 00 hear rate no matter what I did, and I finally sucked it up and bought a new one)...and it was working great. Until a couple months ago, when the battery light came on, and two days later, the watch was dead. So, I went and replaced the battery. This time, it lasted maybe 3 weeks. Then it was the same-- battery light, a day or so later, completely dead. I don't want to keep spending $10 every couple of weeks! I have no idea what is up with it.
I'm trying to email Polar (I looked through their product support and FAQs and couldn't find any relevant information) but who knows if i'll get a good answer...
Thoughts? Has any one else experienced this?
Your battery in your f11 should last 1.5 years for a watch, 2500 hours for a chest one.
Actually I've had my polar F11 for years and this used to drive me bonkers, I'd change the battery and they would test it and say its fine. Once I didn't have a replacement so I just took the old battery out and put it back in and it resets and worked fine - Don't replace the batter, just take it out and put it back in and see if that doesn't do the trick.
The last time I did this my battery lasted another 6 months with no troubles, before I was experiencing what you did. Also don't send it back to replace just take it to a jewler if you can't unscrew the little screws and put them back in yourself. I have to use a magnifiying glass sometimes to get them little screws back in but don't waste the money on changing the battery.
Oh, awesome! I'll try taking it out and replacing it. Luckily, I didn't send it back, I did just have a jeweler do it, otherwise I'd be REALLY annoyed! But thank you so much-- i'll try that! :)
Alright, I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in-- and nothing! The screen is still totally blank. :( This is my second f11 in 3 years, and buggyhair, you're absolutely right-- the battery should definitely be lasting! I don't know what to do, now. I emailed polar, but I have yet to hear anything back. :(
I was gonna say, isn't taking the battery out and putting it back in the same as replacing it??
Anyway, it sounds like there is a short internally. Hopefully you will hear back from Polar. I think you need to get your money back or have it replaced from warranty.

I know bmx - but I just know whenever my HRM stops working I just "reset" it by taking the battery out and it works fine for a few more months. Its not putting a whole new battery but I think to reset the watch you have to remove the battery itself as it doesn't have a turn off button.
I rarely got a blank screen though - mine would just freeze up with the display not moving.
If the battery isn't completely "settled" and in contact with the thingy it wont work. I don't know what else to recommend doing. Bummer about having 3 in such a short time. Mine is so old 4 years this Christmas and its still working and I use it every day.
