Hello!

Im 22 years old and looking to lose 30 lbs.  Im hoping to drop the weight in 6 months or sooner.  I am currently on the South Beach diet.  I have done the diet before and lost weight.  nNce I went off the diet I gained all the weight back accept 10 lbs.  If anyone wants to get a group together, let me know!!

I wouldn't mind joining a group.  I want to lose 30 pounds too. Dont know how to start it really.

I guess we can just pick a day to weigh in and each week post our starting weight and how much we have lost.  Is there a certain day that is good for you?

I'm 24, 5'5" currently 175ish. I am trying to lose 25-30lbs.

I would like to join.... I'm 5'1 currently 172. Trying to lose 30lbs or more.

I'd love to join, I'm 5'6 175ish pounds, 30 lbs would be a good start for me!

Is there a particular day that anyone prefers to weigh in?


On a side note, today has not been a good day for me. I learned that I should never go the grocery store hungry. I had all kinds of cravings while I was there and came home with a rice crispy treat and Oodles of Noodles for dinner :(

I'm 5'7, 18 years old and I've lost 17 lbs so far. I'm looking to lose 26 more...Do I qualify? :P

I weigh myself every day, so whatever weigh-in day is good for everyone else is good for me...Except Monday mornings, that's just asking for trouble

Let's weigh in on Wednesdays.

How about we start by introducing ourselves and including the following.

Age: 24

Height: 5'5"

Starting Weight: 205ish (I stopped weighing after I saw the 200)

Current Weight: 173-175

Goal Weight: 150 (but I may want to go lower once I get there)

Plan for Losing Weight: I have been sticking to 1200-1500 calories per day trying to keep a 50% carb, 30% protein, and 20% fat ratio. I have also thought about trying the South Beach Diet.

I also try to exercise 5 days per week. For cardio I walk/jog/run 3 miles per day. I do strength training 2-3 days per week.

What I Want from a Group: I'm looking for motivation, support, and recipe and exercise ideas.

Starting Weight: 248 (Stopped when I thought the scale might of hit 250)

Current Weight: 244ish

Goal Weight: 180

Plan for Losing Weight: I have been limiting my consumption of calories to 1800 each day. Using my BMR for a sedentary of approx. 2880. I should loose 1 lb every 4 days. (Although I'm thinking it has to be harder then that.)

I also do 30 min of cardio a 5 days to help me out. Plus it makes me feel better. I am adding weight lifting into my schedule too as soon as my limbs don't feel like they are going to fall off from my last attempt.

I also bought a camera so I can take a picture everyday so I can keep track of what I look like on a day by day basis. Should be pretty cool when I am done.

 

What I Want from a Group: I want a group to have fun with. Ask advice on what you think of my plan and what I can do to be better. To be motivated and to learn. I joined this group because everyone in here is of similar age too.

Starting Weight: 199

Current Weight: 175

Goal Weight: 115-130

Plan for Losing Weight: I eat between 1300-1400 calories a day. I also do cardio 5-7 days a week for approximately an hour burning 400 or more calories. On occasion, I do strength training as well. I plan to start a strength training schedule once I get smaller.

What I Want from a Group: I want a group to support me and keep me motivated, I have a tendency to lose motivation after awhile. I also want to help the group in any way I can=]

Oh, this is awesome.  Pratically identical to my age/goals/etc.  I'm almost your twin, goalwise 30lbs2lose!

Plan for Losing Weight: I try to stay around 1200 calories a day.  I make a consious effort to keep a 60-20-20 ratio, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, and keep my sodium well below 1500mg.  I am currently working on becoming more active.  I am also working really hard to not eat bad food, cuz once I start, it never ends.

What I Want from a Group: I want a group who isn't afraid to nag me to motivate me.  A group who posts recipies and ideas would be great too.  Mini challenges could be awesome too!

hey!!  I was hoping to find a recently started group!!!  I just started this like a week ago so I don't really have a "how I'm gonna do this" but I do have a goal!  lol  Well, anyways...I'm Jennifer.  I'm 21 and trying to get to a healthier weight.  I'm just tired of my clothes not fitting and having to buy clothes that are so big.  I've had a weight problem since I was about 12 or so.  I used to be skinny when I was a kid but I really don't know what happened.  I used to eat anything and everything I wanted and stayed skinny but then I got my tounsils out and started gaining weight.  Wasn't really a problem till I went back to public school in the 7th grade(I was homeschooled before so I didn't worry about it).  But then I was surronded by a sea of skinny people who wouldn't talk to me cause I was the fat new girl.  I've tried several times to lose it but gave up every time.  THats NOT going to happen this time.  I'm tired of being fat and I'm gonna change it!!  Well, I think I've already put too much on here so....Good luck everybody!!!

Plan for Losing Weight: I'm gradually decreasing calories, while swimming, playing tennis, or running every day. I'm doing some light strength training every other day. I'm also drinking less... which helps a lot. :)

What I Want from a Group: I want motivation when I hit the rough spots... and just someone to be accountable to, a group to share the highs and the lows with.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning on vacation. I will be spending the next 5 days in NYC. Needless to say my goal for the week is not to gain weight!

Just wanted everyone to know that I am still interested in being an active member of the group, but I will be gone until Wednesday!

So.. I am entirely new, as in, today.  I finally stepped on a scale yesterday and couldn't believe it.  I am so new to dieting and, basically taking care of myself.  I knew my clothes weren't fitting anymore and I was buying sizes I once never dreamed of, but this was the awakening I needed. HELP!!

Plan for Losing Weight: Stop eating foods out of a box!! Eating more fruits and vegetables for starters, cut back on alcohol.  Work out consistently..

What I Want from a Group: I need someone to answer to primarily. I will admit I've gotten lazy and thus gotten to where I am now. I also need a place I can ask questions about things that don't make sense, like what are these numbers "60-20-20 ratio" and how do you measure these things??

Also, seeing other people succeed and get the results they're after should be a huge encouragement.

As you can see, I am clueless and just starting out. I live with my boyfriend who eats like crap and it makes it soooo hard. Try as I might, I can say no to a bowl of ice cream, but I just might need a bite or two... Personally, I'm quite proud of myself for that, but is that the wrong attitude?

what i meant by 60-20-20 was 60% carbs, 20% protein and 20% fats.

Hey! I'd like to join the group. I've been on CC for a while but there are periods of time where I dont really use it that often. I'm also pretty new to the whole posting part of it so hopefully this group will help me with that too. Hopefully by joining a group I will have some accountability and will really stick to my efforts this time.

Starting Weight: 194(ugh)

Current Weight: 183

Goal Weight: 130-140

Plan for Losing Weight: I don't really have a specific plan I'm trying to follow right now. I think I'm just gonna shoot for about 1650 calories per day and definitely step up my exercise. I love my treadmill and along with walking I do Turbo Jam(which is amazing). My main problem is I'm not consistent enough.

What I Want from a Group: I'm looking for motivation and accountability.
