Friday 7/24/09: 236.2 (-5.4lbs I like this!  Hope I can keep it up)

Friday 7/31/09" 235.2 (-1.0 I totally lost my focus this week but I have it back now!)

Hi, my name is Christine and I've been a member of CC for about a week and I really like the site so far.  It's very easy to use and helpful.

My goal weight is 145

The target date is 10/19/2010 (the day before my 34th birthday)

Starting Weight was 244.00

Friday 7/17/09: 241.6 (-2.4lbs not too bad to start)

Age: 34

Sex: F

Height: 5' 2"

Starting Weight: 230 (ouch, ouch, ouch)

Goal Weight: 130

I am trying to losing 0.5 to 2 lbs per week. I typically eat between 1200-1700 calories a day. I try to exercise daily (although sometimes I skip a day), and the exercises I do vary between walking, yoga, strength training, dancing, and swimming.

--------------------------------------------- ---------------

5/9/09 -- 230 (first weigh-in)

5/16/09 -- 228.5 (-1.5 lbs) So far, so good.

5/23/09 -- 226.5 (-2 lbs)

5/30/09 -- 226 (-0.5 lb)

6/6/09 -- 225 (-1 lb)

6/13/09 -- 219.5 (-5.5 lbs) My AC gave out this week, so I figure most of this loss was water weight from all the sweating I did.

6/20/09 -- 221 (+1.5 lbs) AC fixed and water weight back on

6/27/09 -- 220 (-1 lb)

7/4/09 -- 219 (-1 lb)

7/11/09 -- 216 (-3 lb)

7/18/09 -- 216 (-0 lb) Frown Not happy about being stuck, but it was my birthday this week, and I ate 4 or 5 pieces of chocolate cake (over the course of the week ... not all in one go) and a huge steak dinner, so I guess I should just be happy I didn't gain.

7/25/09 -- 214 (-2 lb) WOO HOO! I worked my behind off this week (unfortunatley, not literally), but I was still scared I was going to see 216 on the scales again, or even worse, see a gain. (I went out for lunch on Tuesday and had fajitas and a frozen margarita, and you know how calorie-packed those things are!)

8/1/09 -- 212.5 (-1.5 lb)

8/8/09 -- 210 (-2.5 lb) Smile I worked hard this week and it obviously paid off.

8/15/09 -- 209 (-1 lb) I kept track of my calories in/out pretty closely and thought I would lose 2 lbs instead of just 1, so I'm a little disappointed. I'll just have to remind myself that I should be happy even if I only manage to lose half a pound.

8/22/09 -- 208 (-1 lb) Again, I lost only 1 lb when I was expecting more (1.5 lbs to be exact). I need to stop being disappointed by small losses and just be thrilled that I am losing at all. I think I'm just anxious to get below 200.

8/29/09 -- 205.5 (-2.5 lb) I'm pretty pleased with this week's results. The 100s are getting closer and closer!

9/05/09 -- 205.5 (0 lb) Cry I don't know why I didn't lose anything. I definitely had at least a 6,000 calorie deficit for the week. I've been a stressed, though, so maybe that has something to do with it. Plus, it might be that time of the month.

9/12/09 -- 203.5 (-2 lb) That's more like it!

9/19/09 -- 202.5 (-1 lb)

9/26/09 -- 199.5 (-3 lb) WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!! I'm in the 100s!!!!! It's been so long since I've been in the 100s that I almost fell off the scale this morning when I saw this number! I'm not sure why I lost three pounds this week. I did do more strength training than usual. But then again, I think my weight loss just seems to naturally vacillate. Fingers crossed that I will never ever see that horrid "2" in front of my weight again!

10/03/09 -- 197.5 (-2 lb)

10/10/09 -- 196.5 (-1 lb) I'm now 1/3 a way to my final goal. My current mini-goal is 190 by Thanksgiving (about 6.5 weeks away).

10/17/09 -- 195.5 (-1 lb)

10/24/09 -- 194 (-1.5 lb)

10/31/09 -- 192 (-2 lb)

11/7/09 -- 190.5 (-1.5 lb) I'm only half a pound away from my Thanksgiving goal weight. Hopefully, I'll hit that goal (190 or less) a little early. I got a food scale yesterday. I used it for the first time last night and found out 100 g of grapes (or anything else) is a bit less than I thought it would be. I don't think I was too far off the mark before, but it will be nice to be certain about it in the future.

11/14/09 -- 189.5 (-1 lb) Hit my T-Day goal 2 weeks early. Laughing And another person (my neighbor) has finally noticed my weightloss. That felt great to hear somebody awknowledge it at last! The final bit of good news for the week was I had to go shopping for some new jeans and found I had gone down to a size 16 (Back in May, I was a size 20). It has made me excited to see how long it will take me to reach a size 14 (and, for that matter, a size 8).

11/21/09 -- 188 (-1.5 lb) I will be going on vacation next week, so not counting calories or weighing in. I probably won't loose much (if any) weight, but hopefully I'll keep from gaining weight by being active. We'll find out on Dec. 5 ... I've also set a new mini-goal for the end of the year, although I suspect I'm being a little too ambitious. That's okay, though. I will give me something to work hard at. My goal is to weigh 180 by the end of 2009. That's 8 lbs in 5.5 weeks. It's doable, but it will be tough during the holidays.

Total Lost: 42 lbs

Hi, I'm looking for a group like this I think and this will help me to see that my efforts are working! I'm 28, 5'2" and 173.5 as of just now when I weighed myself.  It's not friday so...

Hi, i'm a 29 year old female from england, i'm 5'2" and i've got a way to go hopefully this will help me to stay on track!

19.7.09- 193

26.7.09- 191

Hi, everyone.  I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts.  Seeing how slow the progress really should be is helping me get my mind right about how long this should take.

My name is Kim.  I'm 37, and I gave birth to twins last November.  My thyroid has been on the brink, and I've gained 10 additional pounds since then, despite partial breast feeding.  I currently weigh 203.5 at 5'6", and I'm terrified.  I have a history of eating disorders, and I've maintained my recovery by having a "no diet" approach.  But it's clear that I can't lose this weight without some concentrated effort.

In addition to having thyroid trouble, I have metabolic resistance due to PCO.  I have spent a lot of years trying to accept myself as a heavier woman.  I've accomplished a lot in my life and career, and I always felt I deserved an extra gold star for having achieved that as a heavier woman.  But I know I need to be healthier than this for my kids, plus I can barely stand to be in my skin right now.  My ultimate goal weight is 149, but I would feel blessed to be 180 again.  I am shooting for 4-6 pounds a month.  (Although I'm secretly hoping my body will finally WORK again, and I can lose weight like they do on the biggest loser.)  Ugh - need to work on moderation.

Thanks in advance for all the support.

7/28/09 - 203.5 lbs - 1st day on CC

7/31/09 - 201 lbs. - Encouraged to see that my thyroid is working.

Hello All!

I would love to join, although I am a little late! I am 26, 5'11, and 290---here goes!

7/24/09---291--This was according to the DR which has been the catalyst for weight loss....catch you next Friday! Good luck!

7/31/09---284---nice! I have slowed down on the exercising though so let me get my butt in gear so I don't have to add a + next friday! Good luck to you!

Hopefully this will keep me motivated.

I'm 34, 6'3 and starting this at 277.4

7/31/09: 277.4  BMI: 34.7

8/7/09: 273.6   BMI: 34.2  (lost 3.8 lbs - off to a good start!)

Total lost: 3.8 lbs

Current goal: 199 lbs which would give me a BMI of 24.9 and would put me at a healthy weight for the first time in my life.  After that I'll have a better idea of what would be the ideal weight.

Hey! I want to join. This is my first week on CC. Im working very hard to reach my goal!

Okay well I just want to say that I am pissed. My computer has been broken for quite some time and I have to use others computers to get on here which I'm not alwaya afforded that opportunity. My reply was deleted because I hadn't weighed in in about a month or so which I understand...BUT! The reason I am pissed is because there are multiple others that haven't weighed in since JUNE!!!! HELLOOOOOO It's August! Almost September but yet mine was deleted! Why are you picking an choosing??? You know what never mind, I don't really care about the answer. That's okay I can keep up with my weight loss on my own...

K

I completely understand what you mean, i joined this weigh in group because i thought everyone would take it seriously and weigh in each week, and because of the rules which were posted about deleting people who dont weigh in, i thought it would be a very focused group. i must admit, a lot of people are faithful and weigh in each week, or at least every couple of weeks, but as you say many have not weighed in since june.....

This is my first week!  I hope my motivation does deteriorate!

8/17/09 207

8/24/09 200.6 (loss of 6.4)  Surprised

I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!!!

Well, here goes nothing. I'm a 24 year old mother of one. I've been struggling with my weight since I got out of highschool, and I want to change my bad habbits into good ones, so I can teach my children a healthy lifestyle.  I'm 5'7", and my first little goal is 10 lb.s

SW 226

8/25/09-(the day i started this forum) 226

8/31/09-218.5 (-7.5) would like to point out that the first time I weighed myself it was 9pm and i was wereing jeans and a t-shirt. this time i weighed myself wearing nothing and right when i woke up. So, I'm gonna say i lost between 2-3 lb.s wich is good that was my goal for the week. see you next weekLaughing

I love this idea...what a great way to stay accountable to my weight loss goal. Plus, it's great to see that everyone struggles like I do and then to see their progress and eventual success!

I just joined CC recently and am excited to see what I can achieve over the next year. I am 23 years old and 5'6". I started my lifestyle makeover on July 1, 2009 at a SW of 224 lbs.

I refuse to use the word "dieting" or refer to eating less as deprivation. If I want something, I eat it. It's as simple as that. But as I continue to lose, I find myself wanting high calorie/low nutrient foods much less often. One thing I don't skip out on is exercise. I average between 5-6 days per week doing 45 minutes of high-intensity cardio on the elliptical machine. I feel so much better and people are starting to notice. The best part is knowing that I'm doing something good for my body in the long-run--after only 2 months I can walk up the 3 flights of stairs to my apartment without getting winded! Yay!

Initial Goal Weight: 150 lbs (74 total lbs)

Super Goal Weight: 134 lbs (90 total lbs)

Initial Goal Date: 9/3/2010--I graduate from PA school on this day!

7/1/09: 224--Starting weight. But I didn't start this post until the beginning of September.

9/4/09: 198.8 (-25.2) This is the first time in nearly 3 years that I have seen a "1" at the beginning of my weight. Heck yeah!

9/11/09: 196.8 (-2.0) Very surprising given that I've fallen off the bandwagon of restricting calories and only exercised 4 days thus far.

9/18/09: 195.4 (-1.4) So close to that elusive 30 lb mark. Then I'll be 1/3 of the way there.

9/25/09: 194.0 (-1.4) Boo-yah! Counted religiously this week and exercised every single day thus far. I'm so proud of myself.

10/2/09: 195.4 (+1.4) Oh well. I knew I wasn't doing right by my diet and exercise this week. I'll just do better for myself in the future.

10/9/09: 192.6 (-2.8) YEAH!

10/16/09: 192.4 (-.2) Still a bit of progress even though small.

10/23/09: 196.6 (+4.2) I know I deserved this number. I have been feeling quite apathetic for the past few weeks about exercising and counting my calories. This puts me back 5 weeks of loss. I'm mad at myself but also glad that I have been accountable in keeping this record so that I can see the overall picture, especially when it's not as pretty as I'd like it to be.

10/30/09: 194.6 (-2.0) I guess I lost some more weight. I think I'm suffering from some sort of depression right now. I just don't want to do anything anymore. I don't know what's wrong with me. I used to be so motivated and determined but now I can't hardly find the energy to get up and go about my day.

11/6/09: 195.8 (+1.2) I'm going to have to start calling myself "Plateau Girl" or rather "Girl Who Can't Get It Together". I'm thankful that I've been keeping a record of my weights for the past 2 months. This has really allowed me to see that I am yo-yoing in the same range of weights without really losing anything. I need to be more fierce about losing weight. It didn't get here in a day after all.

11/13/09: 196.4 (+.6)

11/20/09: 198.2 (+1.8) I'm exactly back to where I was at the beginning of September. I haven't been exercising or counting calories at all. I'm so ashamed of myself. I am going to try to start doing better. I need to translate my mental motivation into action!

11/27/09: 198.0 (-.2) At least I maintained over the holiday week!

Total Lost: 26

Mid-Way Goal: 179 on or before 2/1/10, 19 lbs to go!

I started eating right on July 1, when I weighed 198.  I'm down to about 180, I'll log it officially tomorrow, and have found Calorie Count to be a huge part of that weight loss - keeps me accountable, and although I've been on a million diets I've never really counted calories - I was always looking for a secret or gimic.  A friend referred me here months ago, when I still wasn't ready, but I kept the link until I was.  I've been using a lot of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch meal replacements, this week have switched to primarily real food.  Have found it surprisingly easy - so far.  I'm eating in 200 calorie increments throughout the day so I don't get over hungry.  I made a list of combinations I can fall back on.  I've also learned that variety is very important.  So . . . real food is the theme for now, but when I get tired of that, that's OK, I'll switch to another weight loss plan, not back to old habits.  Regular exercise is a big part of my goal too, I'll track that as well.

9/11 180 (I forgot and ate breakfast before weighing, but oats can't weigh that much!)

9/18  179.5

9/25  175  I'm such a plateau-er!  Stair stepped down this week, yeah!

10/9   176   I've gone up and back down, back on track thanks to a friend holding me accountable.  And adding LOTS of water.  I learned how to use the weight machines at the Y this week, also learned how to use the eliptical (I've been using the treadmill).  My goals are to get at least 2 sessions of an hour long cardio session a week, 30 minutes of cardio 2 days   4 weight lifting sessions a week, core every day.

what I'm doing with my 30 minutes in the morning:
core +
Monday upper body @ y
Tuesday 30 min cardio @ Y or on ski machine or walking
Wednesday lower body @Y
Thursday 30 min cardio @ Y or on ski machine or walking
Friday upper body @ y

weekend
core+
Saturday 1 hour cardio @ y, lower body 1 day
Sunday 1 hour cardio @ y

10/16  175  One thing I did this week that was really helpful was putting all my food for the day in a cooler - counting my calories in advance, and limiting myself to the cooler.  It got me back on track - a real reality check!

10/23   173  I've stayed around 175 for a month, so down 2 pounds looks really really good to me!!  I tracked calories better than I have for a while (and stayed closer to the limit than I have for a while) so it's all about the calories.  Worked out less than planned because of life chaos, but still got cardio in on Mon and Wed - plan to work out today weights and cardio.  This week the goal is to drink my water, in addition to keeping up cardio (at least) and staying good on the calories.

11/15  180  Wow, look what happens when you avoid weighing and logging your weight.  And you eat a lot of candy.  I promise I won't do that again.  Back on track TOMORROW,  please feel free to e-mail me if I haven't logged my weight by 10am

11/20 174  a pretty good week, lots of chaos but I stuck fairly close to calorie counts, had to be flexible, but didn't crash.  Next week, drinking more water.

I am 25 years old, 5'4" and have hovered around 200-205 lbs for about a year. My healthy high school weight was 145-150lbs , so that is my goal for now, but it may change as I get closer to that weight.  I'm married and we have  an eight year old daughter, I also teach grade school. I love running and have done a marathon and several 1/2 marathons, but my weight is making my feet hurt and slowing me down. I am excited to start posting and really getting serious about losing weight for my health and self confidence.

9/11/09--- 203.4--- My starting point.

9/18/09--- 201.2-- Week one, off to a good start. I ran about a mile  today, and     that's good because I hadn't run in about three weeks. Smile

9/25/09--- 202.2 back up one pound. I did run twice, but my eating at Chinese on Thursday didn't help my weigh-in. Next week I'll be out of the 200's with my new resolve. Undecided

10/02/09--- 200.4--- Down a little! Really next week I'll kiss the 200's goodbye forever. Kiss

10/09/09--- 201.6--- TOM next week will be better. Undecided

10/16/09---200.6--- 1 lb! yes little by little is better than nothing. Laughing

10/23/09--- 202.6- Surprised

10/30/09--- 201.6 Laughing

11/6/09--- 198.6 Innocent I had to try on a bridesmaid dress two days ago and it barely fit, (AKA the seamstress had to let all the seams out and there was still material bunching around my hips, butt, and thighs) anyway that got me pretty motivated to do eat and exercise right!
