Did anyone see Conan last night? He did this futuristic comedy bit, and in '30 years from now, there will be a new social networking site that will be more powerful than any others and will combine the likes of Youtube, Twitter and Facebook and it's called YouTwitFace'.  haha.

Of course text is much more difficult to tease apart for tone and nuance than actual conversation, but your OP came off as a little condescending to me. And while it had no argument, it certainly felt like it had an opinion, and everyone has one of those.

I have Facebook, but not Twitter. I do have a question though; are people "tweeting" or are they "twittering" on Twitter?

I have facebook.

I like to go on and check out how many kids the people from my old highschool have popped out. It helps me calculate what % of my taxes is going towards their personal welfare cheques...

My bf however is very opposed to getting a facebook account.

I tell him all the time that I set up an account on his behalf and that I added all his friends and chat with them as if I am him. I didn't actually. His friends will actually send ME his invites to parties so that I can pass along the information. He's always confused how I "already know" about these things.  I just tell him they sent the info to his fake account. I think sometimes he actually gets scared that I am not joking. Its funny to scare him like that.

I had MySpace, but I dropped off that.  I have Facebook, but I don't Twitter.  I don't do a lot on Facebook but its a nice way to keep in touch with folks that I haven't seen in a while.  And since I don't like tons of people having my phone number, its way easier to chat on Facebook.  It doesn't mean I'm pretending to have a wild social life, it doesn't mean I don't have anything better to do, it doesn't mean I'm flaunting my overblown ego.  It means I like being able to post things on my wall like "Dude, I just found out some guys wax their balls.  WTF."

i had myspace and then a couple months ago it seemed like no one went on myspace anymore and just did facebook so i ended up joining. Now i never go on myspace. Facebook is okay but i hate the random friend requests from people i've absolutely despised in HS.

I will never join twitter though.

you are not alone! i REFUSE to join any more friggin interweb social networks. one is enough! can't people gab in person anymore???
